This past Sunday I went typo wash my car, my usual place was closed so I went to an automatic car wash, big mistake! First they declined my card, then after going to pick up dinner groceries, I discovered my funds were lower than expected.

I checked my account online and discovered I'd been charged for two car washes. I did the logical thing, I contacted Walmart Money Card to dispute this. I was told to wait 10 days since the transaction was pending, "ok", I thought, I would get paid in a couple days anyway.

On a Tuesday I stopped over at a restaurant after work. The next while checking my balance and the "pending" transaction of the previous Sunday, I noticed that not only did that amount post, but the restaurant charged me two current amounts in my card! Here is where it gets fun...

I called up Walmart Money bank and tell them the amount posted and that I'd been charged for two transactions at the restaurant.TThey return the first funds to my card, tell me that my cards been "compromised" but neglect to tell me they would be "blocking" my card and that a new card would be sent out to reach me in 14 DAYS!

I find this out when my card is declined and over the phone they say it's blocked! Now 14 days is a lot of time to spend WITHOUT access to your funds! All I got was "I'm sui sorry but we si this to protect the card holder". What?! Hijack accounts?!

Walmart also can send out a card via Fed Ex arriving before 14 days. If protecting means not informing you of your rights and consequences for doing the right thing, then I want NO part of it! Don't trust them!

I'm looking to sue them real soon!

Fighting for my rights

AUTHOR: Nisa - ()

POSTED: Saturday, March 15, 2014

I'll start by simply saying that when I contacted them for a second time I was not told my account would be "blocked" regardless of how I felt on the matter. The associate never stated this would happen or I would've removed my funds!

Then when I contacted them for a third time, I had to bring up the Fed Ex option only to find out today that it was noted that I "declined" that option. Why would I bring it up only to decline it?! I did state however, that the associate who put in the system my account had been compromised should pay the shipping fee, not me!

So it's been one screw up after another. Had they wanted to "protect" me, I would've known what everything entailed. It's ludicrous how a client's money can be frozen because they were trying to do the right thing, the right way.

I also discovered today that if I wanted to do "Bill pay" with my account it would be moot since the card indicated it's invalid and has $0 funds. What another nice surprise.....not!

I would give my attorney all the facts and go from there. Walmart Money Card/GE bank only want to protect one person and it's not a "valued member". Nobody, absolutely NOBODY should have to go through this! So yes, I requested the Fed Ex option for a card and no, NOBODY at the GE bank offered it to me.

What would YOU do in this situation?! I refuse to be a victim and yet, here I am. If somebody told you your card was going to be blocked, wouldn't you do something about your funds?

I find it ridiculous that when told I could report the card compromised and get a new card, I said no because I need to have my account active and available and couldn't wait the 14 days it would take to receive a new card. She said she understood, but I guess she didn't.

I'm tired of the run around, of the fact that I cannot transfer my funds to my new, non Walmart account because according to federal statutes it's considered "money laundering". Many attorneys would jump at this chance to put GE bank in its place due to unethical practices!

"I'm looking to sue them real soon!"

Sue them for what...trying to protect you?  If you wanted the new card sent Fedex, did you offer to pay the extra cost?

Let us know here on Ripoff report when your case goes to court and the venue, date and docket number so we can all see how your lawsuit is going.  Oh, yeah, what, exactly, are you suing them for?  Your attorney will also want to know that.

What could possibly go wrong?
