i made a purchase online on oct.10th 2008 for $229.00 from an online site. after two weeks i started getting worried that i never received my order. so i started calling the sites i ordered from toll free number and i kept getting a recording saying that the line was busy due to high call volume or that i was calling during business hours. i called repeatedly at all times of the day and always got the same recording....i e-mailed them several times and most of my e-mail went unanswered.

i finally got an email back saying it may take up to 4 weeks to get my order as it was coming from India. so i waited another two weeks. and still never got the order. again i called repeatedly and got no answer. i again emailed every day and got one response saying the order must have got lost in the mail, and to please wait and allow them to resend before asking for my money back. so i gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited.

two more weeks went by and still no order then 4 weeks...still no order. all the while calling and emailing. my calls as always went unanswered. i left my name number and order number on there toll free answering machine. never once got a reply..

i finally got an email back saying that they would refund my order and the money would be back in my account in 2 weeks. 2 weeks came and went still nothing. 3 then 4 now more than six weeks have passed and still no money. Noe they not only don't answer there phone but stopped answering any and all e-mails completely...I'VE BEEN RIPPED OFF.

anyway the point is, that i started contacting walmart money card after the second week of the supposed re-shipment of my order from this company. because it was becoming clear that it wasn't coming. i contacted them well before there so-called 60 day deadline to file a dispute. i told them my problem and told them what the company said about re-sending my order. walmart money card advised me that i should just go ahead and wait then. so i did.

the order never came...my refund never came. i called walmart money card and just kept getting the runaround on what i should do.and who i could call to resolve this. every time i called i spoke to a different person who could speak English very well. and every time, i got the same answers back...the same answers in the same order every time. so these people are obviously trained and coached on what to say to people.

anyway at about two months of dealing with this and weeks of trying to get answers from walmart money card. one day i called and they finally told me i need to write a letter explaining what happened and all information showing the transaction. i sent them everything they needed. now almost 2 weeks later i get a letter in the mail telling me that they didn't get my dispute letter within the 60 day time period to file a dispute. so now i get ripped off twice.


i called walmart money card and tried to resolve this but they wont budge. they tell me there is no record of me calling them until after the 60 day time period....and that is a bunch of b/s i called them numerous times before they just conveniently lost my records.

bottom line is folks, not only did i get ripped off from the site i ordered from, but walmart money card screwed me to. the deliberately delayed things and send me running in circles. because they knew if the delayed it long enough that would give them the excuse not to get me my $229.00 back.

i plan to use the money up left on this card and close it for good. as for walmart, i have always enjoyed shopping there and sometimes saving money, but because of this incident...? i will never EVER set foot in a walmart store again. i don't care if it costs me more or if i have to go out of my way or not. I'm done with walmart.

advice.NEVER EVER get one of these prepaid money cards from walmart. they are a rip off to begin with. and if you have any kind of dispute. don't expect any help at all. if i owed them $229.00 you can bet the phone would be ringing off the hook....and it won't stop after 60 days either.

as far as I'm concerned this company really does underpay it's employees and screws people out of money if they can.

buy the way anyone from the media or other sources can contact me at anytime about this.....i am tired of being ripped off and just laying down and taking it...this is $229.00 of my hard earned money that walmart has told me has just "EVAPORATED" and there is nothing they can do...

When you purchase such a "money" card, you are getting something along the lines of a bank debit card-it does not afford the protections that a real credit card company would provide.

What company ripped you off? I'm surprised that you don't identify the product, company, website, etc. of the REAL crooks who took your money without providing any service.
