I parked my Avlanche in a handicap parking area right in front of Sam's Club entrance,in Las Vegas, Nv.  After my shoppingn was completed, I went to my car, when I got in I looked forward and did not see anything thing. I pulled forward and hit a yellow pole, it was about 30 inches tall, you could not see it from inside the truck, it should have had a 6 ft. sign sticking in it, but it was missing.  My son went inside and told the lady checking your receipts, she said I don.t know why they dont fix that sign, its been hit many times.  The manager came out (Michael) took pictures and I filled out a reporte.  The Walmart Insurance Co. called and said they would not pay for the accident because it was not their fault I had hit it, what if it had been a kid, would that be their fault,  I said if the sign had been there, I would not have hit it,it is a law American Disabilities Act, it must be 60 inches tall so it can been seen inside you car.  All the other signs and poles are at least 8 ft. tall but the one that has been removed.  It has been 3-4 weeks I go back and check every week, they have not fixed it yet. The insurance lady Sue Szafranowicz said it has been broke for a year.

That tells me Walmart/Sams club could care less about disabled people or goverment laws and the ADA act.  No excuise for not replacing a sign after a year.  I am reporting them every place I can.  They have no respect for anyone.  The repair is a little under  $700.00 but the fact for 65.00 the cost of a new sign they could save several people this problem.  I was told 5 or 6 people had hit it already. I have pictures of everything, inside, outside the short pole, the regular poles, the size it should have been 8-10 ft. tall

Does this apply to the  situation?

Three Additional Features for Van-Accessible Parking Spaces:

Sign with "van accessible" and the international symbol of accessibility mounted high enough so the sign can be seen when a vehicle is parked in the space.

If it does then heres the contact info:

#6 UPDATE EX-employee responds

You didn't notice it?

AUTHOR: Aaron - (U.S.A.)

You were parked. You left and returned to your vehicle.  And yet you still didn't see it?

Yeah maybe Sam's should change it.  Without seeing it I can't be sure but you are the one who should have noticed it. You had 3 changes to see it.
1.  When you pulled it
2. When you left your car.
3.  When you came back to your car.

Yes you can't see it out your window.  Any of us who drive taller vehicles know to watch our fronts.  But you should have known it was there.  And should have seen it at least when pulling in.

If you hit a kid with your truck, what would Walmart have to do with that unless an employee literally threw a kid there as you were driving? So no, it wouldn't be Walmart's fault, it would be yours for driving a truck you can't handle.

Besides, did you not see a pole there when you parked?

Good grief

Hey, you ran into a 3 foot pole, who's fault was that? It was there when you parked and I hope you saw it then. Part of being a competent driver is to avoid running into things.

I would be embarrassed if I did it and I would slink off and hope no one saw me. I would then cuss myself out for being an idiot and figure out how to get it fixed.

Blaming someone else would not have occurred to me.

Suck it up and accept responsibility.

Hey I am the law why do you put down posters of complaints you have proven you are on the side of the business and not the consumer

Hey I am the law why do you put down posters of complaints. You have proven to be on the side of the business, so this gives the business more fee well to abuse custormers and treat people unfairly.

Not that big of a deal

Maybe you should have just backed up like the rest of us when we leave a parking space.

You are being way over dramatic.  You are the reason handicapped people are looked at the way they are in society.  Always complaining that you want to be treated the same in one breath and then saying how you want special treatment with the next.  Quit blaming Sam's Club for your ineptitude.  Learn how to drive and quit blaming everyone else in the world for your predicament.

Handicapped has nothing to do with it.

Handicapped has nothing to do with it.

You hit that pole because you drive a vehicle that's way too tall. Serves you right.

What if that was a 3 feet child in front of your bumper, huh?
