Try buying a car.

Places will charge different prices at different locations. this happens all the time.
look at Giant Eagle stores. last year, turkey sold in cleveland ohio at 1.07 a pound. Two hours south of cleveland, the same turket was .04cents a pound. When grilled on this, their response was: Competitve based pricing.

Try this sometime:Try shopping for a 2008 chev suburban (or other car. make sure you list same options and such) I'd be willing to bet the prices from 4-5 chev local dlrshps won't even be close.

First of all you don't 'have' to pay the prices that you feel are to much. If something is not worth the value the store is requesting, then DON'T BUY IT. Very simple. As far as expecting the same store name to have the same price for an item, doesn't work for gasoline does it? I can go to a BP station and see one price, go two or three blocks to another BP station and see a different price and go a little bit more to another BP station with still another price. Again, just decide if the price they ask for worth it to you for the purchase of the item. As for as matching the price, that depends on the store policy. Some stores do have that program, some don't. So just because it costs $28.00 at the same name store down the road doesn't mean you're going to get that same price at another store.

Dear walmart employee,

The person whom gave their report has every right to feel the way that they do about "comparison" shopping, tis the American dream. However, when we're talking about the same store - ie; Walmart, Kmart, Target, etc., you expect the same price, for the same thing, whether it's in Timbucktoo, or Wichita, KS.

I do agree, only to this extent, that the cost of living in other areas is a bit higher, therefore costs for items that you might find elsewhere are a bit higher, however, this person was referring to a measly 20 mile difference from where they originated, to the next walmart! Not some 2000 miles as you so suggested in your response!

Don't get me wrong, Walmart is not the only one, many other stores like Kmart, Target, and others are bad about this, but some of the worst offenders are places like fast food joints! McDonalds being the leader! It is a crying shame when you have to pay for what we now know as the "price of convienence" for something you know is totally overpriced.

As far as the unsympathetic response that you have posted with your egotisical, self-indulging, ridiculed job reliance, well, it just goes to show you "can't fix stupid!" Next time you're out shopping, drive 20 miles or so to the next big Walmart in town and pay that "price for convienence," I won't!

As for the person who wrote this, next time you see something like this, have the management call the Walmart store in Eldorado and confirm the price, they will match that and let you have it for what you saw it at! Okay? Hope this helps!!

Not a Ripoff

AUTHOR: Dralven - (U.S.A.)

Having a small variation between stores is not a ripoff. It's how all stores work.

Go to a Target, K-Mart, Best Buy, etc. You'll see the same thing.

A Wal-Mart in LA would charge more than a Wal-Mart in Missouri. It's all about standard economics. You charge what is appropriate for the area the store is in.

Also, a dollar variation in an item almost $30 in cost is basically nothing and is not even worth complaining about.
