I placed an order on walmart.com for new wireless service for my wife and I on 02/20/2013. We got two Samsung phones because they were having a promotion offering a $50 gift card for any Samsung phone you purchase and keep in good standing. I was told that as long as our phones were active and in good standing as of 04/03/2013 I would be emailed the gift cards no later than 04/12/2013. I was not.

I have contacted the customer service multiple times, both through the chat service available on WalMart's whereismyorder.com website used to check on the status of on order and at the  888 number listed on the same website. 888-843-2485 I first contacted on 04/12/2013 just trying to find out if my cards had been sent yet. I was told to wait until 12:00AM EST 04/13/2013. So I waited. When they still didn't come I contacted customer service again on 04/13/2013. I was told that they would "Be sent either today or tomorrow" and "We had a lot of orders and that's why we are behind". When I still did not receive the email I contacted them again at 10:05AM EST on 04/15/2013.

This time I was told that it would be referred to their marketing department and that it will take up to 14 days before I get my gift cards. I explained to the man I spoke with that by offering the gift card by a certain date if I bought a phone that we entered into a binding contract when I bought the phones. I fulfilled my end of the contract by paying for the phones and keeping my account active and in good standing, but that their company is in breach of contract by not sending the gift cards by the time they said they would. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor and was told that he couldn't do that because I had gotten a hold of corporate headquarters and that he was management. He said though that he could put in a request to have me called back so I asked him to do so and he said I would be contacted within 24 hours.

At that time I told him to please put a note in that I would be filing a complaint both with the BBB and on ripoffreport.com and would let anyone I could know what my ordering experience with this company has been like.

Now I know that it may seem like I'm just being an overly demanding tool here, but please look at it like this. They are saying that they can't fulfill their end of an agreement on time because they got too many orders and I am therefore expected to be understanding. What if I failed to keep up my end of our agreement by not keeping my account active and in good standing because it cost more than I expected? Would they be understanding and send me the gift card anyway?
