First of all do not buy the NEW service plan from walmart sams target or any retailier. I sent in my computer in Sept. and its not DEC 1st and its still not fixed. as much time as i have wasted with the repair warrenty company. i could have paid a local computer repair center to fix it cheaper. Have sent in My computer 3 times first time it gets to the repair center they send it back and states the problem has to do with virus. Funny thing is i ran a recovery on it before it was sent in and reformated the hard drive. after recieving the laptop back that time I was advised to send it back in with the recovery disk... round 2, they fixed nothing.... lost the disk... and now on round 3 with this f***ed up company. All they ever do when you call in is applogies which pisses me off.. I please stress any customer not to buy the warranty because I dont want anyone to go threw the same BS I have been threw. Beware...of this company..

Virus?

Unfortunately, most people believe that if you do a recovery (back to the day it was new) that it will remove a virus. WRONG! The only way to ensure that a virus is gone is to "scrub" the hard drive or "write it to zeroes" (yes I'm a techie, 20 + years). There are two online virus scanning services that you could use that is absolutely free that I would recommend, but I won't put their names on here. I've used both and they are very good. Do a search with Google and you will find them. One starts with a B and the other starts with a T. Good luck!
