So I'm told that my mortgage company has to buy homeowners insurance, for $1800 per year, that I already have for less than $500 per year. They refuse to acknowledge this. Then they tell me that there has been a tax increase (there has) and that my mortgage payment is going up by almost $300 per month. I just checked with the tax assessor's office: my property tax went up $105 for the year!!!! I am being charged almost triple that per month.

I have new insurance, slightly more expensive, about an extra $100 per year. With all the new expenses, I estimate that they are collecting roughly 18 times what is needed to pay the increases. This further seems correct as they promised to look into the matter twice, failed to call back as promised, then sent me a threatening letter.

My response. I'm drafting a lawsuit right now. I hope they enjoy it.

Washington Mutual is not merging systems??

AUTHOR: Mary - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 22, 2003

My mortgage was with ABN AMRO, sold to Homeside and then as we all know Washington Mutual bought Homeside. In the course of nine months, I received three letters that I didn't have insurance. Washington Mutual has been on a buying spree as you all know. However, in the process decided it was too expensive to integrate ABN AMRO customers into their system. So guess what FOLKS......because it was too EXPENSIVE......For Washington Mutual.....the consumer gets screwed!! I trust WAMU like I trust ENRON.....NOT!! My suggestion with anyone dealing with Homeside/WAMU is to document EVERYTHING. I was quoted a FAST REFINACE with the above company. They essentially lied. WAMU purchased the above companies for their customer base, sent numerous offers, solicitating business and guess what they couldn't even take care of the customers they bought!!
