WatchRepair.net Jeff Herman Fraud, watch repair scam, theft of money. Boca Raton Florida
*Author of original report: watch returned
*REBUTTAL Owner of company: Misunderstanding with customer, watch has been repaired and returned, partial refund issued...
I sent my rolex watch to Jeff Herman for repair, he promised two to four weeks for return and it would run and look like new.
He drew money from my account and then came up with excuse after excuse about delay in getting parts. I offered to forget the money if he would just return the watch that my father left to me.
Six months later no watch, no money and feeling ripped off. The latest is that the watch will be ready by Wednesday.

My watch has now been returned by Mr Herman. It looks good as he promised. I understand that parts for very old watches can be difficult to locate. Prompt and better communication would have avoided the need for a report.

Misunderstanding with customer, watch has been repaired and returned, partial refund issued...

As owner of WatchRepair.net, I sincerely try my best to make all of my customer happy all of the time.
With regards to this customer, I admittedly could have done a better job communicating and in hindsight, my mistake was to accept the vintage Rolex Bubbleback in for repair in the first place.
It is hard to admit defeat, but the reality is there are certain watches that are impossible to find replacement parts for. This particular Vintage Rolex was from the 1950's and was not in good condition. It required much more than just a cleaning and an overhaul.
The watch has been returned to the customer and I will be making a partial refund because this repair job admittedly dragged on longer than it should have. On a positive note, I was able to resotre this customer's watch back to keeping time somewhat accurately. I was not successful in repairing/frabricating the necessary parts to repair the auto-winding function of the watch.
The only dishonesty was with myself in thinking I can restore this customer's important family heirloom when in fact, many others had failed.
Again, I offer my sincere apologies to this customer for the delay and for the obvious stress this caused him. I always had the best of intentions.
