Web AccessZZ Through Integretel 900 # rip-off scam from on BellSouth bill Internet

On my phone bill, I had 2 charges of $75.00 each from a 1-900 number. They were placed on 6/20/05 at 5:38pm and 6/21/05 at 3:08am. I knew that I, nor anyone else in my household had placed those calls, especially not at 3am! The charges were from "Web AccessZZ" thru "Integretel, Inc." There was a number to call listed on my BellSouth bill if the charges were disputed.

The number was 1-800-736-7500. I called and got a voice mail that said that I had reached Integretel and their offices were closed, but to enter my area code and phone # to see if they would be able to assist me. I did, and was switched over to a live person. This man asked for my name, address, phone number and date and time of the disputed calls. I gave that information because I trusted they were legit since their number was on my BellSouth bill! He explained that someone had used my computer to download a program in which they were able to access various sports and gaming sites. I told him we did not download anything and no one has access to our computer.

He said they would be able to deduct 50% of the charges and he would put a block on THAT 900#. I asked why only a 50% deduction and he said that they had traced the call back to my number and because it was in dispute, I would be responsible for half the bill. I asked that ALL this information be sent to me in writing, but he told me to go to INFOSERVICES.COM to get all the information I would need. I hung up and went to the INFOSERVICES.COM website only to find that is is bogus. It is a Russian Yellow Pages Ad!!! It does have

at the bottom of the ad. I do not know if this person is in on the scam or not.

I called the 1-800-736-7500 number back again, but got a different voice mail. This one only stated their office hours, but did not give me the original option of putting in my number to be able to speak to a real person. I called Phone companys customer service, but they were closed as well.

I did a search of Web AccessZZ, Integretel, Inc. and Infoservices.com and ALL have page after page of scam reports by people from all over the US and other countries as well. My bill says the following:

"Pay Per call 900 Service Charges
The following charge(s) is for information or services received through a 900 number. Call 1-800-736-7500 with questions or billing error claims about your 900 service charges. ORAL NOTIFICATION IS SUFFICIENT TO BEGIN A REVIEW OF THESE CHARGES. Payment of disputed 900 service charges is not required while these charges are under review. Nonpayment of 900 service charges will not result in disconnection of your local or long distance telephone service, but access to 900 numbers may be blocked for nonpayment of legitimate charges. Collection of unpaid 900 service charges may be pursued by the Interexchange Carrier or Infomation Provider through an independent collection action. You may obtain blocking of 900 service by calling BellSouth."

Due to this, I trusted the person I talked to at the 800# and I trusted the information he gave me was correct. I obviously was wrong! I will contact Phone company on Monday morning to file a complaint with them as well. I will also be going over my old bills to make sure I was not charged a bogus fee in the past.
