Webroot You have to OPT-OUT of automatic renewal Broomfield, CO

I purchased webroot security software to rescue a malware corrupted computer of my elderly parents.  The software worked well on old cheap Dell, but the computer was really old and slow, so my parents eventually purchased a new one, and the old one was scrapped.  Webroot was used only on this old computer and for only a few months.

Apparently, you have to opt-out of automatic renewal for the software, which was not clear when the purchase was made.  Webroot emailed me for renewal on the software, but I just canned the emails without reading them;  I thought I'd made one time purchase.  Then the charged my cc for license renewal and would not reverse charge, only took me of the auto renewal (at least thats what they said, we'll see if they try to charge me again in a year.)

So watch out.  Companies should never require an opt-out for renewal.  Also beware, email from the company stated that in future, I would not receive any email notification of renewal, they would just charge me.  Inexcusable corporate behavior.  Great product but I will never deal with this company again.
