It is unfortunate that Wendy Laymon tried to suggest I was somehow negligent, or had a part in my puppy's death. Since this posting I have heard from many people that purchased sick dogs from her using the names Faith Flaymon, Faith Layman, Wendy Layman, Wendy Steppensmeier, Fath Steppensmeiere and webfrenchies.com.

The following letter is a letter sent to american express after melissa stopped payment on the puppy she murdered. American express ruled in the favor of frenchies babies after a short investigation. the findings were that melissa killed her puppy, Gambler, by allowing him to eat exotic plants. this was in the veterinarian statement. she is a liar when she states the puppy died of distemper.

Our mutual customer failed to provide sufficient evidence with her first dispute and so continues to manufacture misleading information.

Gambler was purchased by Melissa Cxxxxxxxxx by written agreement.

Regarding information of the puppy's sire: We have already provided copies of the AKC registration papers and a DNA profile of the sire proving that he is a registered full blooded French Bulldog. We will be happy to provide that information to you again.

Regarding the microchip: The puppy was not microchipped at the time of shipping, however, Ms. Cxxxxxxxxx provided to you the proof that she received the microchip via certified mail at no additional charge to her.

Health Certification: Per federal and aviation regulations, all puppies that fly MUST have a health certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian. These certifications are only valid for 10 (ten) days. Gambler's health certificate was dated June 17, 2008 and showed that the puppy was fit to be placed in a new home. We will provide you with a copy of this health certificate.

Regarding veterinarian bills: We previously sent you a copy of a signed health guarantee that was completed by Melissa. In that document, it sets forth the responsibility for all vet bills and medications to be paid for by the new owner. It also states that if the puppy is believed by a veterinary exam to be unfit to be adopted, the puppy must be returned to the breeder within seven (7) days along with all papers and a statement from the vet as to what the alleged health risks are. The guarantee also provides that a replacement puppy will be sent not a refund. We will be happy to provide you with another copy of Melissa Callison's signed guarantee.

Death of the puppy: Enclosed you will find a page from Gambler's emergency room visit provided by Melissa. To this date we have still not received permission from Ms. Cxxxxxxx to obtain the records from her veterinarian. In addition, her veterinarian refused to return telephone calls to our veterinarian. If you would refer to items #9, 10, and 11, Ms. Cxxxxxxxx told the vet that the puppy got overheated at a trip to Lake Tahoe and had tick exposure. She also stated that the puppy may have chewed on them overnight. If you would refer to the first paragraph on the Emergency Visit Medical Record, also enclosed, you will notice the puppy goes off the leash and was chewing on exotic flowers the night before he died. The symptoms exhibited by the puppy were vomiting, seizures and diarrhea which can all be attributed to poisoning. As of this date, we have still not received the necropsy report from Ms. Cxxxxxxx's veterinarian as required by the health guarantee that she signed to explain the cause of death.

In addition, we would like to have the records from all FOUR veterinarian clinics that she used fax us the copies of their records. As soon as we get the required paperwork direct from her veterinarian's office, we will be more than happy to ship out a replacement puppy to her provided that the puppy died from a congenital defect as stated in the health guarantee. At this point, while Gambler's death is indeed tragic, it was apparently due to owner neglect, not congenital defects.

Health of the puppy: Enclosed is a copy of a vet visit dated June 25, 2008 six (6) days after the new owner's received the puppy. In numbers 1-12 it can be noted that the vet checked the puppy off as Norm in every category. Nowhere on that page does it note that the puppy had a face rash, was dirty, or had overgrown nails as Ms.Cxxxxxxxxxx claims in her statement to you. Loose stool is usually a result of travel stress and diet changes. A notation was made of suspect GI parasite however, was never confirmed with a copy of the test result from the veterinarian. If, indeed, the puppy were sick, he would have been treated with antibiotics that day and would not have had several other episodes of giardia which could be suspected to originate somewhere within the new owner's home or contact with other dogs from being allowed to run off leash (per Ms. Cxxxxxxxxx's statement).

In addition, the puppy was given vaccinations for distemper and rabies on July 16, 2008. It would be impossible for the puppy to receive these shots unless he was in good health, thus negating the claim of Ms. Cxxxxxxxx that she had a sick puppy. Also enclosed you will find a vet bill for a second animal in Ms. Cxxxxxxxxxx's home named Monkey that needed antibiotics on July 31, 2008. It seems that the puppy was made ill at it's new home, not at the home he was sent from. Also, according to Ms. Cxxxxxxx's statement to you, on approximately July 2nd, in a conversation with me, she threatened to stop payment on the puppy she had however, never accepted the offer of a different puppy per the health guarantee.

Distemper: The incubation period for distemper is 3-7 days. The puppy was vaccinated three times for distemper prior to being shipped (at six weeks old, eight weeks old, and 12 weeks old). He was also vaccinated for distemper after arriving at his new home. It would be an incredible fluke for a puppy to die of distemper a mere six weeks after being so thoroughly vaccinated. We would also like to know which of the four veterinarian clinics that the puppy was seen at claims to have a positive test for distemper. Again, we have no vet records for necropsy stating the cause of death. We only have Ms. Cxxxxxxx allegations. The last allegation she made to American Express was that she had received a Boston Terrier instead of a French Bulldog, which turned out to be severe misinformation on her part to avoid paying for her new puppy.

Registration Papers: We do agree that the registration papers were not delivered in a timely manner due to a paperwork error. However, the fact that Ms. Cxxxxxxxx kept requesting them proves her intent to keep the puppy and not return him per the health agreement. The fact that she did not dispute the credit card charge until the day after she received her AKC paperwork could indicate that Ms. Cxxxxxxxx never had any intention of paying for Gambler and the subsequent false charges she continues to make only support this premise.

To summarize, Ms. Cxxxxxxxxx initially claimed information to you that was false. When that claim failed, she is now trying to provide you with more false information to avoid paying for a puppy that she purchased and took legal possession of. We are more than willing to uphold our end of the health guarantee as soon as Ms. Cxxxxxxxxx provides us with the required documentation.
