I called about a very specific property in a listing I found online. I said "can you confirm this is a real listing?" And she (customer service agent) said yes it was. The apartment was located in Pennsport.

Customer service agent explained that they would give me a list and it was up to me to search. I said "I am looking in a very specific part of town, can you filter by that?" and she said something along the lines of "yea, yea". I told them I needed to move by the end of the month, and they said I would find a property in time.

I was told I had to pay a $185 deposit and I was hesitant but the apartment sounded perfect. I was also told the deposit was refundable. I told her I wanted the contact info for that property and paid the deposit.

I was then given an impossible-to-use database of properties. First thing I noticed: The property I called about MINUTES earlier was not on the list. Neither were any current properties I was seeing on zillow or craigslist. Second problem: You can not filter by zip code, which I had specifically asked about. It showed me all of philadelphia and surrounding regions. Worse, many properties were outdated and the list was rarely updated. I had been baited and switched.

Because I am a programmer, I was able to write a script that highlighted in yellow the rows corresponding to specific zip codes I was looking for (they have the zip codes present in the bing maps links, so why they don't allow filtering makes no sense!). There were only 4 at first, and as days went on the number did not go up.

I needed to move. I called and said I wanted a refund, because I was seeing signs, postings, and ads for properties that were not in their database, and their listings were stagnant. They told me I can only get a refund if I do not move within 3 months AND if I use the service 3 times a week. I ended up cutting my losses when I rented a property in the area I wanted that was, of course, not in their database.

This company did not provide the services sold to me on the phone, lied about a nonexistent property, and said I could only get a refund if their scam service failed me and I did not move within 3 months. It always fails, I am sure. This company puts in no effort to improve the quality of their product and their entire business model is based on deception.

DO NOT pay this company for their service. Using anything or anyone else is better.

Note - reply if you want my code snippet for filtering by zip code. If you have already been baited and you have time to sift through, maybe it will help you.
