I started with this company in nov 2004 as a peon. even though i had previous OTR experience this company refused to honor my time in field already and i had to start at bottom of feeding pool. The paperless logs i had no problems with had it under belt in one days time. now i didnt like i had no control over how it turned out and when you had to call in to fix your log book most of the time they refused to adjust it and would blame the computers for the rror and you would get screwed out of your hours. now lets fast forward. in 2005 in still with same said company. i got in to 2 non preventable accidents. both times i had trainees in my trucks when accidents occured. at time i made sure i kept copies for my self and for the company of the accident reports. i always tried to watch my back specially since i had to start at bottom.

now i never had to many probs with my driver manager. i got d**n good miles over 3000 miles weekly. of course at 26 cent per mile it really didnt add up to much of crap. when i had students i would double my miles instantly really but got a pay deduction of 1 cent. now most companies i have worked for would give you a raise for training other drivers but not this one they deduct you instead. but i dealt with it. now around october of 2005 i had to take emergency medical leave for surgery on my foot. of course they would not give it to me paid so i took it unpaid.

well recover took longer than normal so i didnt come back to work until feb of 2006. they welcomed me back with open arms for obvious reason being i got my loads completed on time but i did happen to lose my dispatcher and got a newbie which sucks big time. but i molded him into what i liked and got him running me they way i liked. in april of 2006 i bought my 1st truck and became owner operator and leased on with this company. now i wont discuss my owner op days as it is my busness and not part of this discussion.

now lets fast forward to present day. im trying to get back on the road and from what jb hunt has told me about my dac report that werner has files that i have had 5 accidents in one year and i have 3 speeding tickets in 1 year. but they funny thing is that werner says this all happened this year but i work for a dealer ship now and have been since the begining of 2007. so theres no way that has happened. not only that i pulled my own MVR report to check on my record and found out that i do have speeding ticks but only 2 in the last 3 years one being 2004 and one being 2006. now could florida mvr being lieing to me or is dac is my old company and dac falsefing records because they lost a good driver.

i will get to the bottom of this i plan to call dac services or USIS to get a copy if i can get them to answer my call and see whats really in there.

#3 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Werner/DMI and DAC/USIS

AUTHOR: Deborah - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 24, 2007

Welcome to my world. I left Werner/DMI at the end of 2000. A couple of years ago, I was applying for trucking jobs, and learned that Werner had put on the USIS report that I had 22 accidents in the 3.5 years employed with them. This, of course was obviously false.

In my case, it was so obvious that Werner had to admit to potential employers that I in fact had a good record with them, and that the accidents were in fact trailer damages I had found within the Fontana, CA terminal that I wanted documented before I would hook up to them, all 22 being within my last year working for them, and none of them even remotely my fault. Werner's cooperation this way would insure I did not file a law suit for libel. They also agreed to remove the information from my DAC/USIS report.

Your case is less obvious, but easy to clear up. You were very smart to keep records and copies of reports, and now you know why. Make copies of everything, and write up a rebuttal and send it by registered, return receipt requested mail to USIS, and make sure it is included in the report. You must do this in writing, which as you know is also the only way to obtain a copy of your report from USIS.

Werner will then be required to back up their claims or remove them from your report. Given you have official governmental documentation, I suspect the information will be removed and your record cleared.

Good luck!

#2 Consumer Comment

treats potential employees like poop

AUTHOR: Mike - (U.S.A.)

I AM NOT an employee of Werner nor do I know anyone who has ever worked for them, but this is interesting. Not more than an hour I just got off the phone with a Werner recruiter. I received a solicitation card for employment, the front which stated "Werner drivers receive 60% more time off than other drivers" and the other side a computerized note from Rachel Penke stating "that they would like to discuss what opportunities are available with Werner".

I called and was transferred to Ms. Penke, who answered immediately. I said I received a card and would like to discuss career opportunities. She asked me for my social security number over the phone which I gave out to her. Then she commented, "we sent that card over a week ago and couldn't verify any tractor trailer experience". I then stated that I did have experience and could help her verify it if that was the problem. I told her what company I had worked for and she responded "What?" as if she had never heard of the company, then our call was disconnected.

I tried three times to immediately call her back and each time received her answering machine. Funny, had no problem the first time directly reaching her. The fourth time I was put through to a manager who listened patiently then transferred me to another rep who never answered. I asked him why if we had been disconnected Rachel would not immediately call me back or make herself available. If this is how they treat POTENTIAL employees I would not want to work for this company. I would not hang up the phone on potential employees!! The message is clear: if they have no need for you they simply dispense with you quickly w/o an explanation. Rude, rude rude!!

Update to this report

Just wanted to let everyone know i got a copy of my dac report finally. I found out that werner enterprises, drivers management has put on my dac report that i have a total of 3 non preventable accidents. now i dont mind the non prevent, but in reality i only have 2 non preventable accidents. i also did an mvr and for the last 3 yrs i only have 1 moving violations and on my dac report it is saying 3.

so either still my mvr is lieing or werner was trying to sink me from getting another job. So just a piece of advice if you want to become a company driver for a company werner is not the company you want. now that i have proof they falsified information i will be planning a possible law suit agaisnt them.
