Sears Life Insurance company is a major rip-off. The project that I was on was called Sears 'Call to Activate' in which people who just wanted to get their new Sears Gold Mastercard or Sears Premiere Gold Mastercard, or just plain Sears Card activated but instead had to listen to not just one but numerous lame sales pitches for equally lame products.

At first Accountcare was the product that I would have to upsell customers calling to activate their credit cards then it became Accountcare+Identity Monitor, then as the clients got greedier and greedier it became Accountcare+Identity Monitor+Watchguard+a choice of a new lower variable rate.

What the f**? They just want to activate their cards yet as employees we're required to go through not only a long a*s script but then upsell them multiple products?
Here's the thing though, the turnover rate for CTA or 'Call to activate is so high that the training is piss poor and tought by this very old lady named Linda Jordan who must have alzheimers seeing as how she would go off topic in training and not really focus on product knowledge.

By the time I finally got canned I didn't see her around much which must've meant that she either A.) Died because she was so old B.) got fired because she was a shitty a*s trainer or C.) got lost in a broom closet somewhere at west died of suffocation and nobody bothered to look for her after a while and she is still trapped in there.

I'm suprised I lasted as long as I did with no real product knowledge and such shitty pathetic training.

When I first started there a year ago the project my class of 20 which eventually just became me, were trained on a project called HIP or Hospital indemnity insurance, and TEWL term-extended whole life insurance. We would call Sears customers and try to sell them the insurance plans but then have to put them on hold, get up and yell for a licensed insurance agent for the state we were calling and wait for the agent to come and take the phone call and have to keep the customer on the line by talking about the weather. Something about this seemed real shady to me and really unusual never had I worked in a sales environment where you had to get up and scream for someone else to get on the phone to make a sale, very unusual.

We wouldn't get new hires very often so a training class was very rare but when we did get a new training class they were really the bottom of the barrel. People with no education or previous work experience and criminal records and some were just like the kinda people who rode the tiny special bus to school. CTA and SEARS has to be the worst project at west.

every day we would have to find our own equipment for our stations and we would have to find our own ear muffs to protect our ears from our headsets. Something that I feel management leaders should've at least helped us get.

Whenever there were drawings for prizes CTA was not included even though we worked just as hard and made just as many sales but the other projects Retention, and the projects that licensed insurance agents called on were.

I think there might just be way too many people to handle and manage all of them. Such a weird time and weird experience overall.

Managers of mine would try and sell me drugs, offer me pills, etc.

West is such a trip


Let this be a lesson that if you go into Human Resources at West which hires anyone who walks through the front door and they offer you Sears please say no for your own good there are tons of better projects I'm sure that treat their employees with some kind of respect.
