westcliffe excavating jeffrey weldon smith unpaid wages Westcliffe, Colorado

I worked for Jeff smith at Westcliffe Excavating. Jeff took on buiding projects something he lacked the skills and ambition for. He did know some aspects of the trade i.e. excavating and steel work, welding etc. I met him at church. He hired me as a carpenter. I was very reluctant to work for him the first time. I worked for him on 3 projects. I found him to be very unpunctual, irresponsible, ineffiecient, dishonest, and arrogant. He often used and attempted to use substandard material in the building construction process.

When I quit he did not have enough material to complete the project properly. There was also strong doubt about sufficient payroll funds which he often paid late anyway. He first promised to pay me my final wages then told " the check was in the mail ". Six months later I have yet to recieve my final wages. I am also pursueing him for worker misclassification on the wages he did pay me.
