I'm an over the road driver currently with westen express and am treated like dirt with this company by the individuals who are in management and support roles.  I have $100s in unpaid wages because the company refuses to pay for work related when a driver is only compensated for the miles they drive the truck for the company and not a penny for things like  physically unloading a truck or 53' foot trailer loaded with copper wire in oldsmar florida and in the August heat as RECENT AS THIS MONTH.
 
 The company says talk to your driver manager. The driver manager never responds via Qualcom. Company says talk to Stuart, terminal manager, Stuart said that i'm some sort of a scam artest, to not call him again and hung up the phone. Before hanging up the phone, I tried to politely explain what happened to me and what I was owed and his reply was "I DON't GIVE A F**k AND RUDELY HUNG UP.  i'VE MOVED TRAILERS FOR CUSTOMERS, UNLOADED TRAILERS WHEN THIS IS CLEARLY NOT A DRIVER'S RESPONSIBILITY AND HAD NUMEROUS LAYOVERS BECAUSE OF BAD PICK UP NUMBERS. WESTERN EXPRESS WILL NOT PAY YOU FOR THINGS LIKE THIS. They promise medical benefits in AS LITTLE AS 30 DAYS. NOT IF THE DRIVER MANAGER KEEPS YOU OUT PAST OPEN ENROLEMENT WHICH IS WHAT THEY DID TO ME. BY THE TIME I GOT BACK TO THE TERMINAL, OPEN ENROLEMENT HAD LAPSED AND WESTERN EXPRESS TOLD ME, SORRY YOU CAN TRY AGAIN IN DECEMBER. 
I HAVE A PERFECT DRIVING RECORD, NO ACCIDENTS OR TICKETS. I JUST PASSED A LEVEL 3 D.O.T. INSPECTION. I MADE MOST PICK UPS AND DELIVERIES ON TIME WHEN GIVEN ENOUGH TIME TO DRIVE THERE ONLY TO BE TREATED LIKE A PIECE OF TRASH by WESTERN EXPRESS. Look out for these guys, i'm going to see what the Tennessee Department of labor and workforce development think about these terrible practices.  I've worked for 5 other freight companies and WESTERN EXPRESS IS BY FAR THE WORST. THE MORE THEY CAN GET FREE FROM THE DRIVER IMPROVES THEIR BOTTOM LINE AND THEY ARE EXTREMELY HIGHLY PROFITABLE. Fair warning fellow truckers.
