This insulting Bait and Switch encounter made me appreciate the respect and professionalism shown by the customer representatives at CARMAX in Arlington, Tx.

My hideous misadventure began at 6:45 pm Thursday July 26, 2007. when I called the Internet salesman 'Julio" listed on the Internet Ad which featured a really inviting Internet car ad for a 2004 Kia Spectra with 17,890 miles for $7998 he informed me it was still for sale and on the lot. I made an appointment to test drive the vehicle at 7:30 and I arrived 30 minutes late.

I drove over 24 miles to see this car. My sister, niece, and myself drove up and were immediately swarmed by three sales people form three different directions. I asked for Julio who was now too busy to help but the other Julio told us he was helping us. This should have been the RED flag to send me running.

We were escorted to a cafeteria looking room with a glass office in the corner that housed the arrogant, discourteous manager types manning their computers in the manager's vulture loft. I remembered why I detest car lots.

I told "Julio" on the phone I was preapproved for $7,500-$14,000. I had a blank check from Roadloans.com. The salesman recommended that we try to get a lower rate by letting them apply for a loan with them.

Before we ever saw the car, or walked the lot we were starting paperwork. The process took over 30 minutes. Another RED flag!!! Then the salesman asked for my check and information so the manager could compare. I refused and told him I wanted the manager to come to our table instead. This is when the trouble really started.

You already know the car we came to see was "surprisingly not on the lot".
, eventhough we were told they would bring it around in a few minutes. It never happened. The salesman attempted to be perplexed and walk the four row lot to find it. No such car, of course.

We had now been there for nearly an hour. I was now very aggrivated. I announced "I knew this was going to happen". We were then told they would work with us and adjust another car to be comperable to the Kia in price and mileage. They lied! None of the promises were kept, except they tried to put us in a $14,000 car. Now I was getting livid!

I asked for the paperwork so I could take it with me, they said they had to keep it by law and couldn't even make a copy for me, even though it was a multiple copy form. I was becoming quietly irate.

I demanded the corporate offices address and phone number. They wouldn't give it to me, just their card and names.

The manager made some lame excuse about the Internet information rotating and changing and there was a disclosure about it, eventhough I was told it was there and scheduled an appointment. I told the manager they needed to fix there processes, his response " Our processes are fixed".

I announced they had tried to bait and switch, and told them I would tell all my friends how I was treated. Horrible, no respect, insulted, and violated. It was absolutely the worse experience at a dealership I have ever had.
They should be ashamed of themselves and shold be disciplined for their awful behavior.

I was happily surprised to find this site. I wanted to scream at these idiots for their attitudes.

Thank you for listening. I would love to bring them down. Let me know what I can do to help shut this group of sales vultures down for good. No one should have to be treated this way.

I am worried about my information being able to be accessed by these jerks.
