I went to this piercing parlor to get my belly button pierced. The moment I walked in, she was very rude and unhelpful. She would only take cash, so I had to walk down to an ATM and then come back. When I got back with my friend, she wouldn't let her come back with me, which is strange to me because most places I've been to have allowed someone else to be in the room. She was very condescending as she was explaining to me how to take care of a belly button piercing even though I had already told her I had several piercings before and I already knew all of the information she was giving me. I understand that she's under some kind of legal binding to tell the customers exactly how to take care of a piercing in case something goes wrong she can't be blamed. However, the information she was telling me was completely different from the information I was given for any of my other piercings. I assumed it was because it was a belly button piercing and so maybe it was a bit different. For my piercing, she would only use a ring, saying she did not have barbells for belly button piercings. She continued to say that you were only supposed to use rings and belly button piercings. Finally after I finished the piercing and left the store, I followed the instructions she gave me to a t for a week. My belly button piercing looked absolutely horrible it was swollen and red and there were strange hive like bumps all around the ring. Discharge was coming from the holes and it burned like crazy. Not knowing what else to do, I went to a different piercing parlor in town that I'd heard great reviews about. When I got there they immediately took me to the back to look at my piercing. They were shocked that she had put a ring in the piercing because most people have stopped doing that. It turns out that rings are bad for belly button piercings because they move too much for healing. Another shocking discovery was not only that the ring was too small for my belly button piercing and pulling on my skin, but that the so-called medical grade quality of the ring I had paid for was actually some kind of false metal making my skin react. They were able to pull the ring out clean my piercing and fit me with a brand new stainless steel medical grade barbell. All in all, it was a horrifying experience and a complete waste of my money. I hope no one ever goes here so that they don't have to suffer the way I did.
