I bought a water heater that had smart box on it so it would save money. It worked about 5 years and then sprung a leak being a 50 gallon water heater and i live in a double wide it melted the flooring for the most part. I had to call my insurance company out and file a claim. I found out my water heater was still under warranty but that didnt help the thousands of dollars the water heater caused when it leaked. I callled whirlpools CSR and finally got to file for a replacement after having to pay a plumber to trouble shoot it was really leaking. They acted like i was a lier, when im the one with a 760.00 deductible and during the holidays made it worse. The CSR must be trained that everyones a lier cause they are rude. Anyway i finally got RA# took it to lowes got a replacement not a smart one like i had but one down cause they have done up so much they would not exchange it for one just like the one i had but i did get a 50 gal. I got it home had it installed another fee to add to my list of fees. A few days went by and i began noticing water in the pan and it wasnt coming from the pipes i had to contact the plumber again as soon as i got time. During this time frame my mother broke her him and was having to have surgery and then be put in rehab hospital to learn to walk again. Her health isnt good as it was. I finally got to get plumber out to check water heater and he said its got a lick in tanking area. so being close to 30 days and not wanting to have to pay for him to come back out i had him uninstall it and took it to lowes to exchange it. I was 4 days over my 30 days the lady said. She said i would have to call CSR for whirlpool and get a RT# well here we go again. I Got another rude CSR that acted like i was a lier and refused to give me a RT# without reinstalling it. By this point i was in tears. The lady at lowes said call them back and ask for manager. I ended up calling back got a nice nice lady didnt think whirlpool hired them. Im sure she wont be their long. Anyway i told her what happened i told her who my plumber was and after answering all her questions, i got my RA#. I went back into lowes i gave the lady out return the number she looked at me said thank you and go get what you need. I told her NO dont think i will be buying another water heater from Lowes ever ever never and i will never ever ever buy another whirlpool product AGAIN... I left and when to Home Depot took out extended warranty so they do the work if something happens by chance Again. I hope my story helps someone keep from going through what i have had to so far with whirlpools rude no compassionate jerks. When i was having a bad time and out a lot of money thinks to Whirlpool
