Whirlpool, Whirlpool failed to help us when our water heater stopped working and we had no hot water for 3 days! Johnson City Tennessee

On a Friday evening we had no hot water, we called Whirlpool, since the water heater was only 8 months old we were under a warranty. They gave us a number to call for service. Service was promised next day, guess what the service was through Sears and long behold Sears could not find their technician Saturday so we had no water hot water for three days. We had to get our own plumber to call Whirlpool for us to exchange the hot water heater as Whirlpool had us running around for parts to try and fix the unit. They didn't know what they were doing, and to top it off we were speaking to India! They couldn't understand us and we couldn't understand them. I did not want an exchange on the unit; as the piece the plumber took out was corroded, so there is definitely a problem with the unit. After only eight months there should not be corrosion of this sort in the gas control valve. This passed to our water we used to boil with, and I have no idea what was in it!

I spent hours on the phone with Whirlpool and they just do not want to help. I have explained to them that it cost us over $400.00 to get a plumber to keep changing the parts they asked us to change and to take the old one out and put the new one in. I have asked what they could do as this is their fault; and they have no answer. All I can say is the service is awful and the product is horrific! Do not buy a whirlpool unless you want to pay through the nose!
