White Glove Movers ripoff - Classic Bait and Switch Swindle deceptive company should be put out of business -FAST. Jersey City New Jersey

We hired White Glove movers to move us from NJ to Florida. A sales person came to our home and gave us an estimate. We had also gotten estimates from several other moving companies. White Glove's estimate seemed reasonable compared with all the others we received. The cost for packing supplies was estimated, but were comparable to the other estimates.

On our moving day, 3 movers showed up with 2 very old moving vans that would never make it to Florida. I asked the forman about it and he said these were the "temporary" trucks. The truck they were going to use to move us wasn't back from its prior run. They said our stuff would be unloaded at their site and loaded on the other truck that would actually take it to Florida.

They proceeded to wrap, wrap, wrap all our furniture - to excess. They went through at least 24 rolls of masking tape. They taped over every box that we had already packed and taped very well ourselves. They took many of our boxes and put them inside their own boxes and charged us for additional packing material that was NOT NECESSARY. After all our stuff was loaded on their truck, the forman tells us that the sales person "underestimated" the cost of the packing supplies and it would be "a little higher".

Then he informed us that we needed to pay them an extra $700 and go with a "flat rate" rather than the actual weight of our furniture. In addition to that, he told his that we HAD to tip his workers a minimum of $100 each.

We had no choice but to pay them if we ever wanted to see our furniture again. They arrived at our new home in Florida a day later than expected and demanded the balance be paid in full before they would unload the truck. Then they unloaded the furniture and boxes and just dumped everything in one room. Didn't matter if we told them to put a box in the kitchen or bedroom, they just brought the stuff in the front door and left it there.

This company is a RIPOFF and should be put out of business - FAST.
