White Lion advertises an after school Tae Kwon Do program, but from my experience they are more like a day care that allowed my child 3, 30 min lessons each week. I repeatedly asked for extra lessons for my child, but it never happened. The other 2-3 hours the my c sit in a small space and watch TV. I repeatedly asked for emails with information regarding upcoming Tae Kwon Do events, the emails never happened.

The staff are poor communicators at best and did not communicate effectively with me.  White Lion did not hold up their end of the deal and I became very dissatisfied with their service. Upon attempting to cancel White Lion, they tried to in force an annual automatic renewal and sent me a bill for over $1000 and threatened to send me to collections.  I would not recommend this school. Unfortunately there is no regulation on after school programs and many parents get ripped off.

Great School

 I was a former employee of this company for many years. The only reason that I left the company was due to circumstances beyond my control. I worked for them for many years as a driver, and a student. I started sending my son to White Lion Tae Kwan Do when he was in second grade. I saw a change incur after a few months. If I couldn't make a full payment they always worked with me. Master Mattiello was always in touch with me if he had trouble with my son. They had great respect for the parents as well as the student. They never spoke harshly to any parent. I had quit my job and asked if they needed any help. They hired me to be a driver. I worked for them for several years. As they got to know me they trusted me with collecting payments from parents for lessons. I then decided that I wanted to take lessons . I thought it would be a great way to connect with my son. The compassion that they have for their children is unmatched. With the lessons that they taught about respecting their parents made my son the wonderful person he is today. I am glad that I made the decision to go to White Lion in the first place. So before you write something negative about them you might want to take a step back and think about what you are saying. If you wanted to cancel the contract then the full amount becomes due. It is clearly written on your contract that you sign. It is also explained to you before you sign up. So think Mr Leo before you start a smear campaign on the internet. Dawn B.

Hey "Leo",

I love how you turned the wording around from the last letter we sent you to reply to this outlandish know, where I said that our school doesn't need defending because all the good reviews and letters we receive from our students and their parents out weight the negative remarks, which are all from people who don't want to take responsibility of monetary commitments they make.  Very original.  As far as the remark you made about the owner...when you come into our office and make threats to us that if we don't withdraw your account from the collection agency or you will slander our company ALL OVER the internet, that, in itself, says what kind of people you are.  No matter how he, or anyone else responds to you will seem "unprofessional".  You should spend more of your time learning how to be better people and try to understand what it means to be committed to something instead of spending your time trying to come up with reasons why we are the "bad guys". Remember that our children grow and learn by example...I know my children own up to their responsibilities because they were raised to take responsibility for their own actions; not to place blame elsewhere, as was I.  Thank you and have a great day.

many bad reports

After searching online for a Tae Kwon Do school, I found many bad reports about White Lion Tae Kwon Do. From the owners responses it appears he has an attitude problem and doesnt sound professional at all. The few good reviews on this company do not out weigh the many many bad reports.

This comes in response to the last report..."money hungry".  I have been patiently awaiting your complaint ever since the "man" in your life came into the office to threaten us that if we continued with our efforts to collect on an agreement you signed and then defaulted on, you would be "slandering us all over the internet", and that us sending your account to a collection agency would mean nothing to you because "her credit is already shot".  Wow...that alone speaks of what kind of person you are.   But this comes as no surprise to us, because there are a large amount of dead beats who post slandering remarks when they feel they are excused from keeping a commitment they make...All are the kind of People who like to blame others for their faults.

I am the office manager, instructor and daughter of Master Mattiello.  I don't really feel that our school needs to be defended in anyway because I know that ALL of our students are well trained, not only in the physical part of Tae Kwon Do, but also the mental part of it.  We not only teach our students how to defend themselves, but also how to be respectful members of society. The inner strength is a huge part of training, unfortunately for the simple minded, that aspect often gets over looked and is often not backed by the parents once their children leave here for the day.

Communication is always open here at White Lion Tae Kwon Do.  It was me, personally, who had to call her Every Time a payment was past due, and Never charged her a late fee even though it became customary that her payment would be late.  I was the one that mailed letter after letter and made call after call to this person just to find out if they planned on bringing the child to classes during the summer. Finally, her response was, they were going to "take a break" over the summer....only to complain that the child's technique was not where it should be (in their opinion), when he finally returned to classes. 
All of our
 students have the option to attend as many classes as they are WILLING to take.  We will Never force a child to take more than the required classes...but they are always welcome to join as many as they would like...they just need to ask.  By them asking it shows us where their commitment level is. We all know that your son decided to take up other activities which interfered with his training schedule and effected the cost of the after school program. Progress take dedication on both ends, not just within the instructors and that responsibility was on you and and you did not follow through. I could ask any number of parents that bring their students to our program to "rebuttal" this outlandish complaint, but have no need to so. 

This brings me to the "money hungry" part of it.... we are the Founders of the new Non-Profit Foundation, White Lion Against Domestic Violence and offer classes to many victims FREE of charge! We offer discounted rates to all who are less fortunate than others while expressing interest in our program on a whole and not just the physical aspect of it. We are also operating a non-profit thrift store, with those expenses being own out-of-pocket, to help those in need.

In closing, our agreements were constructed by an attorney and are very much legal and binding.  It seems ridiculous that so many people that just want out of a commitment they made would rather hire and pay an attorney, rather than just claim responsibility for their negligence and pay the opt out, which will cost them much less in the long run.

In regards to the last fictitious report.I will sign my name to the bottom of this answer. Not like the cowards that fill out reports and don't have the courage to provide their names. I know who wrote this last one. As usual it is a dead beat parent who dosen't want to honor their agreement. We here at white Lion offer Monthly agreements with no obligation, 6 month agreements, !0 month agreements, I year agreements, and pay for one year in advance agreements. Each of the agreements come with different incentives for the student/ Parent to save money. All signees are told from day one that these agreements ars automatic renewals written in English and explained to everyone what that means. We also email or put notices up to remind everyone about the automatic renewal. 

 As you can see everyone of these derogatory reports have one thing in common. They are dead beat people who simply do not know how to honor their word. I can prove anything that I write in my rebuttal.The family in the latest report are DEAD BEATS. We tried to explain in a nice way to them   what the policy was at White Lion. They were very hard to get in touch with. Their son has been coming for over a year and a half and doing well before they decided to keep him home for the summer. They  pulled him out again just recently. We called them to find out they weren't going to honor the agremment.

After speaking to them again they sent in the step father who said that if we sent it to collectons he didn't care because his wife had bad credit and she didn't care. He also stated he went to a lawyer and the agreement they signed wasn't legal. Then proceeded to threaten us that she would put bad reviews all over the internet which they did. After speaking to him a little while I realized he had a brain of a gnat, or he ingested more than just food or water that day before he came in. He made absolutely no sence. He insulted me my Daughter and our reputation. which by the way he couldn't make a pimple an my daughters Foot. I am proud of her she has been through many years of training. So I'll end by saying anyone who reads their fictious lies. PLEASE COME IN AND I'LL PROVE EVERYTHING I SAY. Truthfully Master Vincent Mattiello, Owner
