I highly recommend anyone looking for labrador puppies, stay away from this breeder.  Breeder was extremely shady and dishonest.  Breeder initially told us puppies would be due following week of dropping off deposit and then we didn't hear anything for 3 weeks.

When it was time to pick out the pups we were dissuaded into getting another dog due to the one we wanted being an "alpha male".  Please note that the "alpha" was the biggest male pup she had at the time.  We were supposed to get puppy 10/11 but could not because breeder went on vacation.  Our scheduled time to get the puppy then was 10/18.  The morning of the 17th she had a conversation with my mother stating that our puppy was "the biggest, most beautiful pup she had ever seen.  She went onto talk about how her pups are usually "8-9lbs but that ours is 12lbs".

The night of the 17th we received an email (yes an email, not a phone call), stating that our puppy was "very sick and was not going to be given to us".  She stated that vet states he had a heart murmur and she would be giving our money back.  I am no vet but when you hear about the most beautiful. healthy 12lb puppy, this does not sound like a sick pup, but who am I to judge.  At this time we called (like she should have initially did to us) to discuss the matter.  We discussed how the pup was not being sold and we would get our money back.

At this time we were completely shocked, disappointed and upset.  She not only showed a lack of caring due to the impersonal email received by 9pm at night but again we found ourselves questioning her validity.  We informed her that a deposit had been given, making that OUR puppy, therefore we would be making the decision of what to do.  The next day we fought to get a hold of her, up until her blocking us from calling her.

Several messages, and emails were sent to her asking that these vet records be sent to our internalist doctor and veterinarian in Boston so they could provide us with guidance with the pups condition.  She not only ignored our requests but like previously stated, blocked us so that she couldn't receive a call from us.  Breeder was more focused on sending us our deposit back (which we have not yet received) and offering us another pup from a friend than doing what we asked with OUR puppies records.

On 10/25 we finally heard from her regarding this issue, and it was only after denying a certified letter being sent to us.  Whether it was our check or not, she had already ignored our requests with the puppies records.  She spoke with my mother stating that now the puppy died the night before and that he had been sick all along.  She stated that the mom had contracted kennel cough during a vet visit and passed this onto her pups.  She went onto say how the puppies all contracted it and all were able to shake it except for ours.  Please note, pup was not wheezing, coughing, breaking heavy when we picked him.  She stated that the pup died of the kennel cough and that the mom had also had a very difficult delivery to the point that she needed an emergency C section to free a trapped pup.

So at this point, breeder has not only hid the puppies apparent constant battle with "kennel cough" and or heart murmur(?) but also we did not know the momma had an extremely traumatic and difficult delivery.  Nothing was mentioned during 10/25 phone call about the pups heart murmur which was just as peculiar.  During this phone call, breeder did not understand why we expressed not being able to believe her.  Again we were offered another pup however due to this complete run around, sneaky behavior, and withholding our pup/pertinent information we have declined.

She also told us during the phone call that she had spoken to a lawyer about this and was told that she legally could not sell the pup to us.  Still does not explain why records were not sent.  If this was in fact the case and she had nothing to hide why not send the records?  She absolutely knew about this request, but just chose to completely disregard it.

IF the puppy has in fact passed on I feel extremely bad and am very sad for it, however, the long line of lies, and withheld information we cannot believe it.  This situation basically comes down to the breeder either being a liar and the pup was ok and she was going to use him as a stud, or that she is a sneak and neglectful withholding all information.  IF the puppies were as sick as she stated, 1. why would she leave to go on vacation, and 2. do the other families that bought the puppies know about this?  I am horrified that this woman may still be breeding dogs and allowing them to be so sickly (if that is the case).  She needs to be stopped.

WHITE OAK RUN LABRADORS-UNTRUSTWORTHY LIAR

AUTHOR: BEWARE & STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE BREEDER - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, June 25, 2014

My experience with Karen the head untrustworthy minipulator of WHITE OAK RUN LABRADORS... AKA "PUPPY MILL" was about the same as everyone elses here on RIPOFFREPORT. I assure you that these are NOT issolated cases. If you google WHITE OAKS LABRADORS complaints you'll be shocked just how bold and brazeing this DISHONEST women has become. From all the complaints i've read online she needs to be put out of the buisness of BREEDING SICK DOGS for once and for all. Apparently she's been getting away with RIPPING OFF UNSUSPECTING FAMILIES for years now. She lied and cheated our family with no regard to us or our childrens feelings. Our family has had labradors for many years that we've purchased from other reputable breeders which were great labs and experiences. The labrador we got from her was Ill from day one and became aggresive with our children. When we tried to contact her about the problem she became defensive towards us and refused to do anything for us. She blocked our number and when she finally took our call a week later after she contacted her Lawyer we got no where. We were told that WE CAUSED THE PROBLEM. Even though an 25 year experienced dog trainer we took the puppy to told us otherwise. We would NEVER EVER BUY A DOG from this women again and warn anyone who is looking for a lab to LOOK ELSEWHERE! She is a terriable person who sells sick puppies for $950. STAY AWAY!

The amount of information you sneakishly kept from us, and all of the stories that have changed, we do not believe a word you say.  Funny how your biggest, cutest, active puppy so quickly turned to deathly ill with at first a "heart murmur" and then later "kennel cough".  Also the fact that you didnt feel it was important to tell us about the difficult labor, mother contracting kennel cough, or puppies contracting kennel cough until after you told us we couldn't have the puppy then blocking us and waiting a week so you could talk to your lawyer.  Originally you told us mom contracted kennel cough at 4 weeks, now its 6 or 7.  Regardless that is also before we were due to bring the puppy home.  If you wanted to prove you aren't a liar and sneak then you probably should have just let our vet see the vet report.  Or even given us th decency of a phone call to explain the sitaution, not a classless email.  I'm no vet but a puppy as sick as you supposedly claim would not be your biggest, cutest personality pup so that's that. Even we know that a sick dog will not eat (well).   Good luck to you and whatever type of business you are running.  You are a very dishonest person and you most certainly will never get a recommendation from us to our many puppy searching friends.

Sick dog NOT for sale!!

AUTHOR: white oak labrador - ()

POSTED: Thursday, November 07, 2013

We unfortunately had a pup that had complications with kennel cough.  They wanted the sick pup!  We DO NOT sell sick pups.  I invited these people to my home to view all vet records and medications given to this puppy (they live only 10 minutes away). My vet was the care giver.  She wanted her vet to make the determination,if they should take it, or not. This pup was NOT for sale due to health issues,as they were informed.  They picked the pup at three weeks old this happened at 6-7 weeks old, of course at three weeks pup did not have a cough.  They spent a maximum of 30 minutes picking their pup, I at that point did inform them there was an alpha male. However, it made no difference to me which pup they selected. Suggesting we kept the pup for stud is absurd. After their insistance on them taking the pup, I contacted a lawyer who advised me (as I already well knew) NOT to sell a puppy with health issues. I tried the very next day to return their deposit certified mail.  They refused twice? Finally had to send it again priority mail, and check was received and cashed.  I have a lot of happy people with happy healthy pups out there and I am happy that I made that desicion, especially with the outcome.
