I started Wildblue internet service on March 2, 2010.
I was charged $100.00 that day for installation of their Premium $80.00 a month package, Plus another $100.00 for a Wireless Modem.
On March 8, 2010 I was charged another $210.56 on my Visa/ATM card..

Total $410.56.

My service at first was Very fast. But soon dwindled to a snails pace and Non existent on the weekends.
I found the Web site Forum for Wildblue and registered.
On the forum are Page after Page of complaints and Unanswered questions on service issues.
I posted my complaint and was met with Ridicule and scoffing as to my Gullibility at BELIEVING the Hype in Wildblues Advertising.
I retorted to the Ridicule and had my Post "DELETED" by admins because I used the term "MORON" as were Other "Inflammatory" posts of mine.
Still, I was Called on the phone by a Tech Support and was walked through an Install of a Downloaded program to speed my connection..It worked fine for a short time..
Meanwhile, I read many more complaints about "Wildblues" service or Lack, there of.

My hope was to have a connection near DSL speed, but Certainly faster than Dial up, which is what we are limited to out here in the boonies.. I had spent many hours trying to download a program file nearly 4 gigs in size, only to fint it was Corrupted when trying to install it.. SO, My use of the Limited connection was at about 87%.
3 1/2 weeks in, i decide I would change to the Slower speed and stop paying $80.00 a month for a Lousy connection speed..
I called Wild blue and had them change me to the SLOW speed at $40.00 a month..
When i got on again, it was So alow, i could hardly connect to anything. The Error message of , "Server Reset while making connection" came up time and time again..
I looked at my Bandwidth usage , I was "In Violation" and was being penilized for going OVER my Limit..
I posted about this on Wild Blues site. I was told by one of the WB admins that "That shouldnt have happend.
Afet servral more posts i was Informed " None of my posts would be allowed to show until it had been Revied by an Admin.

I Called Wildblue to cancel my service after only 5 weeks Lack of service.
I went to my bank and Canceled the card of the account on Wildblue so they could NOT charge me farther.

Monday of this week, I saw that Wildblue had done an End Run, gotten into my Wifes card and withdrew another $322.??.

I was Incensed and called my bank to Protest..
They told me to call Wildblue and see if they would Not refund it..
I did call Wildblue and got no help from them.. Only little Robots that kept repeating the same things over and over.. "The Contract said" Blah Blah Blah...

I called my back and they told me there is nothing They can do..

I was absolutly Insane with anger at this point..
I am a 100% rated Dissabled Viet Nam vet on a Fixed income and did NOT have an Extra  $322.00 to my name. Takeing that money means My house payment or Utilites or ??? whatever, will BOUNCE.
On getting another usless person on the phone with a lot of Usless questions AFTER I asked to speek to a Supervisor.. I Totaly BLEW it.. and told the idiot I need to speak to a Supervisor befor i come down there and start SHOOTING..

I was put on hold for 10 minutes.
When I finaly got the , as he said "As High As I can GET" he did Nothing but Reiderate,
"The Contract says, The Contract Says... Blah..Blah..Blah..."

I told him my Situation, Fixed income, Need to pay bills, Wild blue NEVER gave me the service I THOUGHT I was going to get...

All he could say was.." The Contract Says.. The Contract Says ..The Contract Says"
If the man had been in this area ............................................................!!!

Ant, they wonder why some of us go to Clock towers and High buildings with Sniper rifles and Full auto AK47s that SOME of us brought back from Viet Nam...

I am STILL , Searingly Angry and will need Many Many more Prozac and Epilepsy pills and Blood pressure pills befor im any where NEAR Normal..if EVER>>>>>.

Change in owners of Wild Blue

AUTHOR: Former ViaSat - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 29, 2010

First - I want to say, I am sorry. Second - Wild Blue was purchased by ViaSat Inc www.viasat.com out of Carlsbad CA, you can read all about it on their website. I understand that there was a great deal of internal dissention about buying the company, that one faction wanted to lay off the entire Wild Blue staff and that the other faction did not want that to occur. Unfortunately I was not there so I do not know exactly what happened, I suspect something in the middle.

Now for the way to get results for your problem. The CEO is Mark D. Dankberg, personally he is a great guy, if I remember correctly, his email should be mark.dankburg@viasat.com Mark has a great heart, I am not sure of Kevin Harkenrider who was named President of the Wild Blue division when ViaSat took it over.

Personally, I would email and then send a snail mail letter to Dankburg. If that does not work, send a letter of complaint to the San Diego Union Tribune about the issue naming names.

Dankburg only wants positive press because ViaSat is about to launch ViaSat 1 (also on their website) that will increase the capacity of the system about 100 times. He needs the support of Wall Street.

If I had to speculate, in 2011 when the satellite is up and operational, ViaSat will migrate some of their Wild Blue customers to the new service/satellite. The new system was called Leapfrog internally.

The current issue is that the former owners of Wild Blue oversold the subscriptions and the only way to compensate was to limit the bandwidth to the customers. It sounds like that is what happened to you. Do not threaten Dankburg or Harkenrider with a letter to the newspaper, they will hunker down. Only send a letter to the newspaper if all else fails. Good luck! I actually think you will get results from Mark.
