The REASON they were asking you about your FAMILY is because they were trying to figure out how many cars they could get you to sell to all your family members BEFORE they canned your butt. They figure if you have a big extended family, you might be good for 2 or 3 vehicle before you're outta there. What was that rip off financial company that was trying to hire everyone and one of the requirement was that you had to provide the names and numbers of five family members? Same thing.

If you think this little episode was unethical, just wait until you get into the real car business. YOU wouldn't last five minutes. You're probably doing yourself a big favor and learning how the car business works early. A cop I know waited six months until retirement, to go to work for a local caddy dealer. He didn't last a week before he walked, due to their lack of ethics. The reson they hired him was because they were expecting him to sell all those caddies/SUV's/Hummeries to all his cop friends. He wasn't buying it and left.

All auto dealers are INDEPENDENT of the franchises they may represent. The manufacturer has NO say in what any dealer does, thanks to our Congress.... who also prohibited manufacturers' direct auto sales to the customer. I have no idea why. So don't let Sludgeitus-Karl get you off track.

Anyway, car sales is not for everybody. In fact, it is sorta like those reality shows where someone is eliminated every week until one sole survivor is the 'winner'.

Car sales is the same way- at most dealerships you are on straight comission, and they always have more salesmen/saleswomen than they need. The competition to survive is intense. Although some women do very well by using a soft approach that most men could not convincingly perform.... sort of an outflanking maneuver.

Also the retirement plans really ..... well.... you know.

'Vacation pay' is usually an advance on your comissions....

Auto sales positions require a LOT of hours..... and little real time for one's family or personal life. Maybe that is why they gave you ''5 min. of an interview in which the manager ask me qestions about my family''. Most dealerships will want you to 'hang around' all day, usually 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM, Mon thru Fri, and 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM on Sat. [Some dealerships are only open on alternate Saturdays!]

Some dealerships do offer a salary but they are few and if you don't sell enough to profitably cover their cost to keep you, you are gone.

Pearl, I'm sorry to hear what happened. FAX a copy of your ripoffreport to 1-310-468-7814 and make it to the attention of ALL TOYOTA EMPLOYEES. Toyota's Top Executives know about all the problems at their Dealer Network. There is obviously a Conspiracy to FINANCIALLY INJURE innocent customers and employees and future employees .

Go to the previous Rip Off Report and read the 'Rebuttal' entitled URGENT UDATE TO ALL AMERICANS and Google the CAPS and read them. Toyota's Executives are part of the problem. They do not have the ability to do business in an HONEST way! They only know how to CHEAT, LIE, & FINANCIALLY INJURE people! It's the 'TOYOTA WAY'.

Toyota Corporation has become an 'American Samurai'. The definition of 'samurai' is 'one who serves'. An 'American Samurai' is 'one who slaughters'! Most Japanese Corporations are no different than most American Corporations!

Get all of your money out of the stock market and cash in your 401K and any Retirement you may have. A Collapse is coming soon! Opinions are forming all over the USA and all over the world. These are mostly NEGATIVE OPINIONS. These NEGATIVE OPINIONS are going to trigger a collapse that few could even imagine.

Go get a job that won't put you in a position to LIE, CHEAT, SCAM, DEFRAUD, & FINANCIALLY INJURE people. This is what Toyota & their Dealer Network are all about, at least the majority of their Dealers! Trust me, I know!
