Tonna Carlo owner of 'Winning Attractions' upholstery out of Elma and McKenna, WA. had been contracted to do upholstery work for my vehicle. She asks for money upfront to order materials and 50% of her labor charge.


Work was never completed. Materials were never purchased. Long story short she took the money and ran. I had to pay someone else to pick up the pieces and finish the work.


Her unethical business practices, her poor work ethic assists her in finding excuse after excuse not to finish the work. She will give you pitty story after pitty story. From no gas money to get to her shop, to saying materials wont fit to buy her time to get more materials because she spent the money on something else on her stupid Lama someone gave to her.


She lies and cheats sympathetic and unsuspecting customers into believing her "feel sorry for me" lies. By then she has your money and it's to late.


Anyone looking to have Tonna do anything for them needs to ask for references because they wont check out. After many years in the business (so she says) she has nothing to show for it but pictures of cars she didn't do the work on and claiming them as her own.


She has been denied to participate in car shows and clubs as her poor reputation for conning people is now finally catching up with her. She is on the run, she never stays in one location for more than a year or so because she has ripped off everyone she possibly could and it's time to go to the next town and do much of the same.


I should have known looking at her she was full of it. An overweight 50 year old woman with scraggly hair, very poor hygiene and never wore a bra should have been at least a warning sign.


Again, someone who claims over 40 show winners shouldn't be living in someone's field in an old run down rv trailer with no utilities right? Unfortunetely I didn't know much of this until she had my money and my car.


She has taken a car that meant a lot to me, took it apart, lost the parts, never bought the materials I paid for and left me with a basket case of parts that will cost me thousands to have someone else finish. PLEASE PLEASE...BUYER BEWARE!!

Thank you for your comments Tonna.

Now here's the real story;

56 T-bird;

So far the door panels have been redone due to Tonna using permanent black marker that has bled through the vinyl arm rests. The convertable top she swore wouldn't fit and was paid in full for, was installed in 8 hours by a professional auto trimmer. The problem was she never stretched it...any professional with 44 show winners should know that....well I guess not.

28 Chev;

Complete interior was paid for in full by us to Tonna. Seats were unfinished, no patterns were made. Door panels she did do, however the nails strips to attach them were left off. So they had to be ripped apart and redone. No headliner was made. No carpet made. Again, this was all completed by a professional auto trimmer in less than a week. Headliner material was mysterously cut and ripped. This all had to be rebought.

56 Ford truck;

Piping on seat was superglued down to seat material instead of being stitched properly. Seat had to be taken apart and the piping and seams had to be resewn properly...superglue must be her secret to 44 best in shows.

67 Chevelle;

Installed headliner, wasn't ever steamed and properly installed. Installed carpet kit that she cut and stuck a giant heal pad over it to cover up the hack job. We ended up replacing the carpet and installed it myself due to her lack of accountability.

Lido;

Customer wasn't happy with the repair she did.

64 T-Bird

Did not buy carpet with money that we paid her with to buy the carpet. Two different shades of white was used on the seats. Crooked stitching on every pleat. Used different thicknesses of stitching on same pleats. She also over shot a stitch and she pulled it back up leaving holes in the vinyl. More materials needed to complete job than what she bought, although she was paid in full for ALL materials.

54 Chev & Chev truck

We did offer to trade her a van for work on my personal vehicles. After almost a year of her driving our van, work still wasn't completed on either car. What was done was done very poorly (Which she even admittted) All of which needs to be redone and is still in pieces. With the thousands of dollars that she still has for work not completed or done poorly on all the above jobs we do not feel she is owed anything from us. In fact she owes us thousands. She did take a picture of my beside my truck, what am I supposed to do other than smile? I am happy with the truck, not the partial interior she did. That in no way expresses satisfaction with her incomplete work.

67 Charger;

This is a job she didn't even mention. She was paid in full to do a complete interior. This job was left completely untouched, no materials were purchased other than a roll of carpet. This job alone she was paid thousands. All we have to show for it is a roll of carpet.

Her T bird.

We allowed her to store her car at our shop for free, she was never required to. If her 50 year old clearcoat started to peel I don't think it was due to the months SHE let it sit there. Any agreements you had with people to do work on it is unknown by me.

There are no lawsuits pending against us. FYI; We have never worked for key bank. That must be your extreme attention to detail showing. If she is an expert or professional at anything, it's making excuses. She is what the industry calls..." A non-finisher".

Tonna, I hope you have all your pictures and documentation in order. You will be needing it in court.

   In Jan.09 the former owner of Buffalo- Robert Newgard, introduced me to the new owners of Buffalo Restorations AKA West Coast Classics a limited liability corp. Steve and Irene Warren, formally loan officers for key bank. I was to become their Upholstery Division of Buffalo. I had just returned from 2 years in Fresno California, and arrived at my friends Horse Ranch in Yelm that month. I stayed in my 40' Fifth Wheel and commuted to Puyallup.


   I had drawn up a contract so as to outline my terms as well as Buffalo's that they didnt sign and stalled on for over 6 months. finally they had to sign or I was leaving.


   They had a 56 T-Bird Convertable top job for me right off and paid me to do the job and buy the top which I did. Mr.Zorens car didnt have the top bows installed nor adjusted as there were many things lost and broken from its near 1 1/2 years at Buffalo. I spent the last 9 months getting on them to get the parts fixed to very little avail. I kept photo's of everything and every car I did including dates, money spent, parts ordered for upholstery and parts received, payments made and Buffalo's Inability to get their technicians to get the work done on these cars so I could do my work. In the meantime I made a new custom carpet kit, New arm rests and installed the new stainless on the doors, installed the new embossed red and white upholstery, new back boot curtain as well as trunk carpeting. By the time many happy cars and customers passed me on their inspection the top was one of 3 last partial jobs I left.


I had finished the following... Clown car Conv. Top Redo from the upholsterer who replaced me....Steve Warrens ( The owner of Buffalo Restorations who is the gut who submitted this slanderous report on me pretending to be a single customer- see Buffalo Restorations and the 2 psudo names) 1953 Chevy Black PU Seat Upholstery & Door Panels in Black with Red Leather and leather Flame centers which He has never paid me for. I have his happy smiling face in the window of his PU with the upholstery! ....1954 Red & White Chevy that his father, Dan Warren owned that I did in White with Red Pleated Leather I Bought whome he was trading a Dodge Cargo van for my work which I didnt receive and was not paid for....Chevy Lemans 2 Door R&I Back Seats and re-do the rearpackage tray and trim in 1 day, 6/30/09...1930 Chevy Street Rod Metro Delux Trunk Liner Pad 7/20/09...Tony poulist's Chevy Corvette belts in silver.... 1948 Buick Roadmaster 4 Door panels in Mohair Faux with matching carpet bottoms with center post upholstery and new boards with polished stainless trim....1955 Chevy Bel Air owned by Mr.Priest-Pillar Post Repair and door welt from the last upholsterers screw uo in desiging.......1964 Corvair Convertable Top Repair and new custom Boot....1967 Chevelle Customer Supplied Carpet, Door panels, Heat Wrinkled old headliner kit that the owner bought and the seats a guy had done for him in his boat shop.... 1928 Chevy Touring 4 Door Panels with gathered pockets in faux Mohair, kick panels, back panels, and woollen tan carpet and trim....1964 T-Bird which the technicians had completly torn down from dash to floor that I bought a Custom pure white carpet kit for including padding, Back White Upholstery and front Buckets, I made a pinpoint Custom Headliner as well, The car was painted within 7 months with a cheep teal enamel so by the time I left it was still out back in the dirt and weather without the parts assembled for any interrior as my photo's can proove. My own 1959 Thunderbird decayed under a clear piece of plastic when all it needed was a power steering kit and exhaust manifold gaskets........1956 Ford PU, Miller & Wife, Gray velour with Yellow Piping bench seat, blasted and painted bases, custom made the new foam buns, made custom plush carpet kit and padding, and others done inbetween these jobs as in small repairs from technician or the other upholsterers mistakes.


   You need to know that again the guy who calles himself "The-Good-Guy" Steve Warren who is the New "for 1 year" Owner of Buffalo Restorations, soon to be changed to their LLC of West Coast Classics to avoid any other lawsuits pending, , Is the same kid that is bashing me all over the internet. You need to ask yourself why is this kid going to great lengths to do these things when he should know that I Date and Photograph not only what I Do but the entire 9 months I was there.Seeing the problems they created and now not taking account of their guilt and using myself as a fall guy only digs them in deeper. Check out the 2 Buffalo Restoration Kudos they gave themselves on the same day... Irene, His Wife was the one with the Snowey sparkley name of sorts. When inside friends report things to me its no wonder I just found out.    


    I was on the Discovery Channels, Monster Garage, Build Team 16- Wedlock and WON! I have done over 44 Best In Show Winning Customer Owned Vehicles and countless class placers. The Photo's in the Album are Mine and The Customers will Verify That Without Question. I was trained By Ed"Big Daddy" Roth and My Mother, Sandy Carlo and Dad Anthony Carlo who had 55-57 T-Birds and Mom's Crown Victoria. True, Romeo My Elderly Llama died when he got out into a Rody bush and was poisoned at 11 years old, True I was out sick from food poisoning for a week from Cournel Sanders Chicken with Campylobactor Jujini, but gave them the Cert. from the Clinic where I went. And I am 57 Years old and when doctors say not to cramp my b***s in a braw because of the higher chances of Breast Cancer finishing them off I sure will not put one on. As for the field and my 40' 5th.Wheel stored there I am in the Apartment which I pay Rent and Utilities on. Steves Own Father, Dan Warren, 1954 Red & White Un-paid Upholstery job I Did For Him, Was Evicted By His Last Landlords for non payment of rent thru the Rental Agency 6 month prior, ment he had to live with his son Steve Warren "Who also didnt Pay for His Upholstery" & Family till he could find another place who would rent to him without refferences. My hair is none of his business as at my age working with men in a mans world means no dresses, Heels, Low Cut Blouses, Jewlery, Hair bands, Flip Flopps and Sandles are all not what to dress in when working on cars. Yes It Messes My Hair Up...Yes it gets dirty under a car...And I Can Sweat Like any one else.


Lastly all materials were bought for the last few vehicles except some red vinyl for Eldon Goes Dodge Charger, 2 Floor Mats, unfinished assembly of the rest of that 56 T-Bird Top I Bought, and sewing 2 seat covers for the 28 Chevy, and god knows where all the parts went for the 64 Teal T-Bird of Spencer as the Technicians still didnt know where they were when I left.


 Due to Buffalo prematurly terminating the last 2 months exiting agreement that they signed that I have contract on and have all evidence to wit.  Adding to the fact that they have failed to pay for the upholstery done for them on their personal truck and car + Materials is added. Also have dated pictures of how tightly cramped other vehicles were jammed into the space they provided me so as to restrict my work and take up my time.


    As for the car he says ment a lot to him, thats a Crock as my customers say. His Smile He gave Me That I Photographed Within His Trucks Window showing his Upholstery Says It All.


    If any Attorney would like to represent me in a class action suit againsed Steve and Irene Warren for defamation of character or Slander you can contact me thru this site legally with my express permission.
