Four years ago I was looking for my first bran new car. While traveling back and forth from my home in Flin Flon to Winnipeg I found that the CD player would cut out often reading ?HOT? When I reported this to Winnipeg Honda the sales manager said that it was because I had the cabin heat up too high. I asked him if he seriously meant that I had to choose between heat in the car and music on the lonely and radio free highway six. After coming into their office many times being turned away although I had warrantee on my car they replaced the radio and Magically it worked. I have had the same radio ever since and I wasn't crazy and I could have heat in my car as well.

This story is followed by a reoccurring problem with my seat which refused to lock and I had ?fixed? under warrantee three times. The fix I found out later was simply tightening a failed part over and over then when the warrantee was up they attempted to charge me to fix something that they had themselves neglected. In the end the problem became so bad that my seat moved freely without locking at all which is quite dangerous when you are driving standard and need to be able to have your feet on the pedals.

While in for a routine oil change and tire rotation My life was put in danger by Winnipeg Honda. I had dropped off my car to be worked on and was going to pick it up after hours. When I picked up my car and began to drive I heard a rattle from one tire then all four then as I slowed down my whole car began to shake. I exited my car and looked at all four wheels to see if I had a flat. On first inspection I saw that I was missing four nuts on my tires, and the rest were only on hand tight. I tightened the remaining nuts and called Honda from my home to have my car looked at and the missing nuts replaced. The service manager sent a young jr. employee to apologize to me and tighten the nuts. I told him that this was not what I wanted and returned with him to have my car inspected at Honda. I supervised the inspection and pointed out that because of the nuts not being tightned the bolts on several tires had been stripped. The service manager came to look at the problem and ordered that the bolts be replaced. Then while they were looking at the bolts I noticed that one of my rims had a larger hole in one of the bolt holes. The manager actually said that I was wrong then I took my finger and demonstrated to her saying ?doesn't go in, dosen't go in, oh goes in looks like one whole is bigger.? Sarcastid I know but by this time I had had it with them. It turned out that a spacer had been destroyed or had fallen out. The moral of this part of the story is that it is important to watch when people say they are acting in your best interest.

The shocks on my car failed within the first 15 months that I had my car and two years later my struts and bushings failed as well. I found this out when I took over my leased car and decided to purchase it from Winnipeg Honda. The car had to be safety inspected and it was at this time that the problems were found. I asked to speak with the service manager and a mechanic who when I asked him about shocks and the connection to the struts admitted that the shocks may be the reason that my struts failed within the first four years of owning my car. This fix was costly and in the end the Service manager said that he would cover it under warrantee, then when I turned up to pick up my car was faced with a $250.00 bill for the bushings, Thanks Winnipeg Honda.

The icing on the cake was when one of their sales people asked me if my problem had been settled and when I told her about the $200 and the rest of the problems that I had had she had the nerve to say ?I hope this doesn't reflect poorly on Winnipeg Honda? Who else would it reflect on?

Incompetence, Complacency, Neglect, and Deception are home at Winnipeg Honda.
