August 2, 2012 - What a crock this product and company is.  Lets deal with Company what company?  Call the As Seen On TV number and you get White View order line.  The hold is 5 to 7 minutes.  Before the company replies with the demand is great response, the wait is due to the three separate advertising recordings callers are forced to listen to.  Heres a helpful hit, know when to stop selling you already have the interested caller on the line.  Next issue.

When a caller is finally directed to the actual order phase, the computer generated voice asks for verification of an address it already has based on the caller telephone number even if the caller has a paid caller ID block and unpublished number in place.  So much for respecting privacy.  Does the product manufacturer and White View pay off Verizon to make an exception?  What else are these two companies sifting information wise?  Putting the product review aside, the scamming is heavy on this one where it relates to the S & P and the free-included plus kit.

Consumers need to be better educated to the S & P scam used by so many companies to recover more than what the free stuff is even worth O.K., worth is subjective.  What is not subjective is the compared to what option that every consumer has the right to explore.  First, as a consumer do you really think it is fare and just that a company charges you to take your order, capture your money, and put the goods in a box?  Some shipping charge I can understand.

Making things worse is the Buy One Bottle and well Double the Size for FREE and also include a BONUS Pro Detailing Kit.  Offer Details: With your order, youll get 1 Double Size Bottle of Wipe New for $19.99 and $7.99 S&P, PLUS 1 Detail Kit, which includes: 2 yellow Wipe New applicator cloths, 1 red headlight applicator, 1 blue headlight polishing block, 1 detail brush and 1 pair of nitrile gloves all you pay is an additional $7.99 for S&P.  Lets be as outrageous as this offer and say that the total product weight is the same as shipping a 12 oz. bottle of soda.

That would be a lot of Wipe New liquid.  The bottle shown is around a 6 or 8 oz. max, Id even bet the farm that it s less than that amount Im a thermoformer, I know what I know.  Notice how nowhere in any material offered is the actual size and weight of the bottle given. The light weight gloves, foam products and the plastic detail brush all accounted for in my weight.  Lets take the worst case, Non-commercial rates.  U.S. Postal rates as of January 22, 2012.  12 oz. ships in large envelop for $3.10 anywhere in the U.S.  Package rate is $3.48.

Lets bump shipping weight up to a whole pound.  Large envelope $5.15, package rate $5.15 dead even.  The company is charging you twice for the same offer.  First the actual product then the Plus kit.  That all totals $15.90.  Subtract the max shipping and the company gain is $10.80, way more than enough to pay for the so-called free stuff.  Lets look at the actual product offered.  Anyone in the free world can purchase a 20 oz. bottle of what is generically referred to as automotive clear or poly for on average $12.95.  The amazing Wipe New product works the same.

The offer is $19.95.  No where does the size appear.  My company uses automotive clear or poly to restore shine to acrylics and plastic.  In my honest opinion this offer sure sounds like the same that appeared way back in the 80s called Auri.  The Federal Trade Commission shut that all down and I believe someone went to jail.  Perhaps a call to the FTC is due on this one just to assure consumer protection.  In short, consumers are buying the Wipe New product not being told how much they are getting; that unknown is offered as being doubled, what a deal right!; purchasers get a hand full of goody extras included in the Plus kit;  all consumers pay is the deal price of $19.99 and S & P times two.

Your $19.99 turns into $35.89 real quick.  Perhaps all that extra S & P is to recover the processing costs for the very bad service and the over the top additional advertizing callers are subjected to when calling both companies.I called the number listed on the Wipe New website hoping to fare better on getting answers to my concerns then I got when calling the TV offer number.  I didnt.

I got yet another person on the line who knew nothing about the company offering the Wipe New product.  The ladys response to me was one of defending the many disclaimers put forth by the manufacturer, the infomercial, and White View.  She offered to transfer my name and number to a supervisor-who wasnt available by the way.  I addressed with the manufacturer offered customer Service number agent every item I am posting here.  Ive had more educated talks with plants.  I jumped off the marry-go-round by hanging up.

August 3, 2012 - Can you believe this company?  Within hours of my call and about an hour after posting here- to inquire about the manufacturer and the many questions and comments I had in store for the employee, they called be back to get me to buy the product.  The company call back was unsolicited.  I never gave my private and unlisted number out to anyone.  Yet, they had it all.  Amazing. Simply amazing the levels some will go to sell a product or service.  I never said I wanted to buy.  I simply had questions.

The company agent stated that I attempted to buy the Wipe New product but didnt finish the transaction.  Originally, I was talking with Customer service trying to gain info not order product.  The agent at White view kept on me as I blasted her back with my legitimate concerns and comments.  She called my private number, I didnt call her.  She kept telling me that they were not scared of little ole me.  They will do what best brings in the most sales As long as more sales close than those who disapprove of their business model they are good.

I recorded everything as I do all incoming and outgoing calls.  The agent had an opportunity to settle this issue with me.  They decided to bully.  Lets push back in the name of Joe consumer shall we!  I have sent off a detailed e-mail to the Federal Trade commission on this one.  I sent off an e-mail to Verizon as well.  Im paying for caller ID block and an unpublished number every month.  I demand to know how this company is able to do what they do with all that in place.  Ill post my results.  My opinion is to stay very clear of these companies and this product.

Do they Deliberately Mislead? Yes. Could you avoid being Mislead? Yes.

AUTHOR: Reviews - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, April 05, 2015

Do they Deliberately Mislead? Yes. Could you avoid being Mislead? Yes.

They covered their legal bases as displayed by their use of the super tiny bottle in the commercial. They may not have said how big the bottle is but they use the actual 3.x ounce bottle in the commercial and used fine print to say it is enough to do one vehicle.

To to me paying almost $40 to detail one vehicle with my own labor time is insane. Why not pay $100 for a full interior and exterior detail instead of paying $40, waiting a week, and detailing only the exterior instead of both interior exterior.

how much is your time worth? that is the question we should review when doing reviews of Wipe New car detail restoring kit.

It costs $27.98 for a 2-bottle 2 car kit at Walmart.

it is also a 4/5 star review rating after hundreds of reviews on Amazon. That's crazy impressive considering how bad the pricing and customer service is at corporate, this rating on Amazon only addresses the product quality itself.

A product review should not make a decision for a consumer it should give more detailed information and perspective and at most offer an opinion of the quality, value or integrity.

Wipe New is a " quality product "

AUTHOR: Auto Salon - ()

POSTED: Friday, November 28, 2014

Wipe New is a " quality product " as stated by Renew Protect. We where contacted rescently by this company. They provided correction to our review. They said WN is a good product and the marketing company, Emson, is know for and does copy media, etc not not formula or trade marks.

We feel it best to post this additional comment and correction. At Auto Salon we do enjoy testing new products and take pride in our service.

Do some research and read instructions.

AUTHOR: Bryan - ()

POSTED: Friday, November 15, 2013

I'm not sure why so many folks ordered Wipe New By phone in 2013.  It has been available at big retail stores since 2012.  Avoid the hassle of dealing with the company by simply buying the stuff from W mart.

I have been detailing cars for a long time and have found nothing that works like Wipe New.  It is very easy to use if you follow the instructions.  They are intimidating, but just take your time.  You must also properly prepare the surface to be treated or you will get streaks and fish eyes.  Also, let it dry for 24 hours before exposing it to water.  You will get spots that are difficult remove.  I experienced that myself.  It was my error.

Good luck to all.

Truly Baseless!!

AUTHOR: Alphie - ()

POSTED: Thursday, July 11, 2013

I just finished doing my Jeep Laredo 1999 and it looks brand new!  The 1.5 oz bottle was more than enough to do my whole car including some parts of the undercarriage.  Definitely want to detail in a cool area as directed.  The fumes are strong at times but in Dallas, Tx it is always approaching 100 degrees plus.  I am looking to get another bottle to do my wife's car. Buy the product.  You won't be dissappointed.

It does work and works very well.

AUTHOR: Ed K - ()

Hi, the answer is you can now buy at Wal-Mart. I love the stuff. My headlights look new again and all the body trim looks new as well. I have over two hundred dollars in cleaning products for my personal use. This product will save me tons of money. If anyone has read the instructions, it clearly states a little goes a long way. So the 1.5 oz is enough for a mid size car like it states. Again I love Wipe New and I am hooked and will continue to be a fan of Wipe New.

The Stuff Works

AUTHOR: Vicious Vinnie - ()

POSTED: Thursday, March 21, 2013

Ordering over the phone sounds like a nightmare but I just purchased an 8oz bottle for $12.99 at my local Grocery Outlet store and the stuff flat out works great. It's very easy to apply and I am very pleased with the results. It's a shame that they just don't let the product sell its self and stop all the other nonsense.

Chill out! You didn't even buy the product!

AUTHOR: Dallas Texas - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, January 06, 2013

You didn't even buy the product, so your review is lame.  Of course they have your number, you dialed a toll free number.  Since you whine that it was a conspiracy between your phone company and the company  selling the product, that they had your number, my guess is that you were cocked and loaded for something like this.  Ready to complain when you called.  Given the detail of your "complaint", I really doubt you ever intended to purchase.  I just wonder how many other complaints you have written?

I did purchase the product, and other than the shipping cost being a little, I found the product to work like a charm.  And as promised.   Actually I found this complaint accidentally by searching Google looking for similar products.  BTW, if you pay attention to the commercial, it is written that the bottle is 1.5 oz.  It's the "professional  victims" that I find more annoying, and certainly more common than rip off companies.  This company delivered what they promised to me.  My advise to you is to find a more constructive hobby.

As Seen on TV Scams and blocked phone numbers

AUTHOR: Ryan - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, December 31, 2012

I was reading this review because I was interested in the Wipe New product, but as I read I realized that there was more to this than just a product review. The fact that they scam people into paying twice for S&P is crazy, but not unusual. My advice is to just wait a while and buy from a store that sells "As Seen on TV" items for a much more reasonable price. If you don't like it you can easily take it back to the store versus being faced with near impossible return hurdles to overcome! The extras that they promise for free are not free at all, so you aren't missing out on anything by waiting for it to be sold in stores! My experience is that these products rarely ever work as advertised anyway!

The big concern is that this company is using blocked information in attempt to increase sales. I'm pretty sure that is illegal unless they disclose their intentions. I once worked for AT&T 00 Info (remember that?), and when people would call their contact information showed up on our screen, it also noted whether their info was blocked or not. Likewise, when the number or address they asked for was blocked the information would still show up, we just couldn't give out that information. It's a little scary to think that our information is so freely available. It seems that nothing has changed since the late 90's early 2000's. While working at AT&T 00 Info several people were fired for giving out the blocked information. Some companies take it seriously others do not.

Wipe New

I can not answer to whether or not this stuff works but I can tell you what actual professionals use and its not "wipe new". The best stuff to use is called "cool blue". I work for a car lot and we deal with a whole bunch of professional detailers and this is the best stuff I have seen yet. I love the smell of it too.

Best way to avoid calls on your phone

AUTHOR: Filmmaker Joe - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, October 14, 2012

I got myself two new phone numbers cheap. One was with magic jack (no endorsement implied) and one with Skype (I am not endorsing Skype either). Magic jack added up to around $75 for 3 years and Skype is $2.99 a month. They allow me to make calls from my iPad and phone attached to my computer. The iPad app for magic jack is impossible to call back reliably. You need to put in a user ID to reach the caller and telemarketer computers can't do that. Skypes number seems to change every time I call out, so they can't call me back on that.

I use those two numbers to research and buy things from tv. It works for me, yet depending on your personal ability it may not be feasible for you. It keeps my mobile phone free of calls.

One thing is good about Android mobile phones is that most allow you to designate certain phone numbers to go directly to voicemail. Telemarketers seldom use voicemail. If you just hang up on them and immediately set their profile to "go directly to voicemail" you will never hear from them a second time. My wife's phone does not have this feature so I created a ringtone with no sound by recording 2 seconds of silence and assigned that ring to a profile called "Z". Now when she gets a caller she hates on her mobile phone she just saves their number to the profile for "z". They never get through.

Hope these tips help those with some tech skills.

But does the product work?

AUTHOR: tootall1121a - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, September 30, 2012

Shady business practices abound. I generally wait until the products are available at ... walmar or some such store before buying them. While this report goes on and on about the business practices that are so common today, it never mentions whether or not the product does anything close to what it claims. I'm all to aware of dozens of companies doing the shipping and handling rip off. Okay, that's bad enough, but most of the time, the product is nowhere near what it's claimed to be. The hapless consumer is left with no real recourse, the so called guarantees are seldom honored, and the lifetime in the guarantee is the lifetime of the small company they form just for that product launch, not the lifetime of the consumer or even the supposed lifetime of the product. I know all that, what I wanted to know is whether or not the product comes even close to doing what it claims. That issue is not addressed.

Completely AGREE with view of shady business practice.. BUT...

AUTHOR: cms3717 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, September 17, 2012

First off let me say this, I completely AGREE with view of shady business practice... I hate the "upsell" and pricing gimmicks.. it s HORRIBLE way to do business, and they SUCK for doing it this way.. BUT!!!

I bought it anyway, and I love it... I have a 2008 ford F150 flare side black with black plastic trim. The paint looks great but all the plastic is sun faded grey... Armor all and tire shine, tire black, black magic, and whatever else i have slathered on there last 72 hours at best. this stuff looks great after a month and is supposed to be good for over a year... Over all, I have to say "win". I just had to pass the word on. buy it or don't.. but if you have a similar scenario, buy it.. Just sayin.

Toll free numbers

AUTHOR: gamstutz - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 11, 2012

I appreciate your report and especially about the tiny size of the product.  Your report has convinced me not to even attempt to buy this product.

However, I wanted to respond to your concerns about the company getting having your address when you called, and having access to your phone number, even though you paid Verizon for Call Blocking.  (I'm just another consumer... I don't work for that company!)

You see, when you call a toll free number (800, 888, or 866) in the USA, the company you are calling is paying for the long distance charges on your call.  Therefore, for billing purposes, ALL phone companies (Verizon included) are required by law to provide your phone number at the time you call -- whether you have call blocking on or not -- to the company that is paying for the call.  They don't have to pay for the long distance call if the phone company doesn't provide proof or evidence that you called.  Therefore the all phone companies provide your phone number when you call one of these toll free numbers.

And there are numerous marketing services available online from which you can buy a cross-reference database that lists the billing addresses of millions of phone numbers (cell phones included).  So since this company had your phone number the second you called (since it's an 888 number), they can have their computer use this database to look up your billing address in the less time that it takes to answer your call.

What I find interesting in all this, is that long distance calls are now virtually free for almost everyone in the USA.  So why are there still toll-free lines??  So that the companies hosting these toll free lines have a right to collect your phone numbers for marketing purposes!!  In other words, THEY'RE PAYING FOR EACH PHONE CALL, JUST SO THEY CAN COLLECT YOUR PHONE NUMBER FOR MARKETING PURPOSES (not to save you money in your long distance call!)  So my warning for everyone reading this...if you see an 800 or 888 or 866 line, look for a toll (normal) area code in the marketing materials.  If you see one, call the TOLL line, not the toll-free line.  This way, if you have caller blocking (or if you turn it on just prior to the call), the company you're calling will NOT get your phone number, and you remain anonymous (until you're ready to give out this personal info -- or you can give out another number, other than your cell number if you prefer!)
