This company sent out a representative from their organization to "evaluate the type of system" best for me. I had a meeting with the representative name Jake, who quoted me a rate after looking at my situation. I informed him that the camera that I curently had was frequently disconecting from the internet and would not allow visual monitoring of the room I needed to monitor. He sated that he could gaureentee that this system would not have that issue. I told him that I would discuss this with my husband after him telling me that there would be no monthly fees since I would be doing the monitoring myself. There were only monthly fees for the company doing the monitoring. I ask him about this several times during our initial consultation and prior to signing the contract on May 5, 2017. He assured me that the only monthly fee would be an insurance to offset the possibility of a service charge in the event that anyone needed to come out, though "highly" unlikley and that would run $3.00 per month. After discussing it with my husband I called for Jake to come back out so we could complete the paperwork, again making sure that there would be no monthly fees. Still getting the same information as previously, I signed the contract.

On June 6th, the camera had stopped working for the 3rd time and a technichian came out and I was verbalizing my frustration with the system and was informed that "Jake is not longer with us". So I inquired about getting the insurance that Jake spoke of and that Jake had said I was covered for 90 days with the purchase, but after that I would be charged the $75.00 service fee. I was informed by the technician Tyler, that he thought it was more than that, but he would inquire and let me know. 2 days later, I received an invoice via e-mail and called to inquire what it was for. I was informed that it was my monthly "monitoring" fee. I am monitoring this myself. Then the next day I receive an altered contract where the "zero" for monthly monitoring had been changed from "0" to $12.99. When my husband called to consult with them, he was informed that their representative had " miss spoke". So they took it upon themselves to change a signed contract.

Regarding Changing of the Contract

AUTHOR: Schultz - (United States)

POSTED: Monday, July 23, 2018

First off we don't have Contracts, Second Jake was on his first sales appointment on his own and he did mis-speak. However because of this situation when after attempting to call, email, and text Devola regarding this situation she completely ignored all of my repeated efforts to contact her. I drove to her office and spoke with her in person. After discovering what her complaint was we came to an agreement, since she has had previous employees also I explained from time to time we and they are human mistakes and misunderstanding can happen. I offered to reduce our normal rate substantially due to his error, she accepted and said she understood. Devola is still a customer going on a year later and have never had any complaints from her. I have no idea why this complaint was ever filed unless it was when I was trying to reach her via calling, emailing, and texting her and she had refused to answer any call or message at that time. I believe everything is fine with her and after we came to an agreement she failed to remember to at put in a disclaimer regarding her complaint.
