I had charges on my account I did not authorize. When I called the 1-800 number provided on my statement I was told I entered my email address into a box on the Columbia House website and that gave Columbia House permission to give WLI my debit card information.

I called Columbia House and was told they do not release my information to anyone and I need to contact the company to resolve the matter. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told a supervisor would not get on the line to help because they cannot respond to reports such as mine. I was then told the lady could no longer discuss it with me and they could not help me.

I contacted my bank and was told if I wanted to remove the two $9.00 charges it would cost me $15.00 each. And there is no way they can stop a company from taking money out of my account if they have my debit information. The only thing I could do was change my account number and debit card numbers.

No wonder this scam works so well, it falls into all the loop holes.
