My wife and I recently paid $5,000 in cash to Marlena Martin and she promised my wife a title. However someone else was crowned. My wife and I tried to talk to Marlena face-to-face after the event but she kept avoiding us and refuses to return our calls, text messages and emails. Of course we did not get our money back either. This meant a lot to my wife because she has competed in other pageants and was never chosen. We told Marlena this and she promised, she guaranteed that if my wife paid an extra fee than she will win the title.  Now Marlena is trying to do more pageants and CON more unsuspecting women. Beware. This organization is run by one person, Marlena and she keeps all the money and tries to get the competitors and queens to do all the work that the director is supposed to do. She is very dishonest, unfair, over-aggressive, and will say or do whatever it takes to get you to do what she wants. Her physical address is not even listed on her website. Legitimate pageants at least have an office.

DO NOT enter her pageants in CA or any other state that she is trying to expand too. Marlena does nothing for her winners except take their money. She offers no guidance, career direction or marketing. She is not good like the other reputable and established pageants out there.

Wrong pageant - this picture is Miss America!

AUTHOR: M. Martin - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, August 23, 2015

1.  This picture is of Miss America - Heather Whitestone 1995 -- so it can't possibly be your wife.

2.  Further, we've never had a "Lin Kim" or that name affiliated to any of contestants in our pageant -ever.  I do not know any person or contestant with that name and would be more than willing to hand over any and all of our documents to prove the same.  You may be referring to the wrong pageant.

3.  Our prices for "at large" contestants are listed clearly on the website with our business addres and phone number, but none of them are as high as $5,000.

4.  We also do not have a title called "Los Angeles Internet" so this also is false.

5.  I will be forwarding this to Miss America Legal to see how they want to handle this but this picture was taken from a Miss America Tradeshow featuring beloved Miss America 1995 Heather Whitestone.  This is not a picture from any "Woman of Achievement" pageant or function.

Please refrain from making false statements that discredit not 1 but 2 great organizations who exist to make a positive difference in women's lives.

Marlena Martin - Director

Woman of Achievement
