I lost my position as manager, so a relative of
an executive of the company could have a job. I finally quit. During my years there, they discriminated against blacks continuosly, wouldnt hire them or let them be a member of there so called fraternity, they gave us excuses to tell them.

There was a large lawsuit against them, they slapped their hands, but they are still at it. Just like someone else said a good ole-boy company, reps & buyers beware, they also taught us how to churn to make money, that is replace good policies with bad.

Attornies should contact clients and reps
throughout the U.S, to sue to eliminate the widespread discrimination and churning of policies.

I've worked in insurance for about 5 years now and never came accross an unhappy Woodmen of the World client.  I've sold WOW for about a year and NEVER had anything regarding questions of skin color, race or ethnic background asked for!  That's illegal.  If that is truely happening in a branch office, then you have the moral obligation to report it to the proper authorities!

I worked for a company that at one time suffered terrible reprocussions because of one branch's bad conduct.... I know it's easy to boo-h*o but in this case, it's better to be a man and step up to the insurance commissioners plate and let them know the details.  That kind of behavior should be not only unacceptable to you personally, but it harms the whole industry.

Wherever there is money to be made, corruption follows closely behind.  All insurance agents have the responsibility to report illegal activity.

I currently work for Woodmen of the World and know many people who have for over 10 years. Not one of them has ever had an experience like you are describing. We are taught nothing but honesty. It is illegal to replace a policy that is not in the best interest of the client. Woodmen does all they can by requiring numerous forms warning the client about replacement issues to be signed with the application! They then review the policy being applied for compared to the policy being replaced and reject bad replacements!

What proof do you have that you were demoted so a family member could have your job? The company would have had to have their own proof to demote you at all, and if they didn't then you would have been able to take legal action against them. Usually when a person is fired/demoted/disciplined they blame the company instead of taking a real good look at themselves.

You mention racism. Most companies that are as old as this one (120 years) have had racism problems. That used to be the norm! Woodmen however has steered away from that path and is doing all they can to include everyone in their team and membership. One of my areas top selling agents is a black woman who sells almost exclusively to other black people! She has been acknowledged and rewarded on a National level from the company! Does that really sound racist?!
