I was called for an interview by this company. The guy who called me told me he found my resume on careerbuilder. He identified the company as Transamerica and made a refernece to Aegon group. He told me a little about the company (basically how they help fix people's financial lives). I asked about what position they were considering me for. His response was simply that there are many different ways i can contribute to their company as reflected in my resume. He asked me if i would like to come in for an interview. Since i was in desperate need of a job, i decided to go.

So i reach this place 3350 Birch street in Brea, CA, suite 200. And i looked for a suite that said "Transamerica' or ' Aegon' since that was where i got the call from. But suite 200 belongs to World Financial Group. I was alarmed but went in anyway. A lady approached me and asked me to wait . She said they were expecting more people for the interview. And i was like.."oh great...a mass interview". After waiting a while, no body showed up (and yeah i was having thoughts of leaving myself), she called me into her office and within minutes i realised what this was about. The typical questions asked when they are fishing for an associate..." dont you want to be rich", " how does 210,000$ annually sound", " dont youwant to clear student loans",...and other stuff like 'our company is new compared to other big names like BOA but we are doing so much better and growing worldwide etc.". ...I pretended to be interested because i didnt know what else to do and then she wanted to jump ahead and start my paper work , so i can start ASAP. At that time i said i had a few questions, asked about my work schedule, timings, my title, my typical work day, responsibilities and of course pay...And the answer to all those ..was simply, 'its all you... you determine everything. "

That was my experience here. i wont call this a scam but valuable information was witheld from me onthe phone and some misleading information was given, for example the name of the company, and now i know the reason why. When you google 'Transamerica" or " Aegon", you get genuine , decent hits..but you google " world financial group" and you see red flags everywhere.!!!

I Apologize for your experience

AUTHOR: Mike - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, May 12, 2011

I apologize for your experience.  I too was recruited by WFG, but at a job fair.  I also visited Prudential.  I failed a test at Prudential, but I looked at WFG simultaneously throughout the process. WF G actually interviewed me.   I didnt get some crazy what are your dreams seminar.

My decision came down to this: can I build my clientele base like I could at Prudential?  The answer is yes.  In fact, Prudential is one of the Insurance Companies WFG markets. That says something.  Furthermore, like any employee, agents must follow guidelines.  You were truly scammed-by the office you visited.   WFG is no scam.

I went recruiting yesterday and met an impressive young lady.  She grilled me for info.  I was happy to provide WFGs name, what we do,and what we stand for.   WFG recruits in an  unconventional fashion. I dont have a problem with that.  Though Prudential agents dont have to recruit agents, they do recruit clients in the field-they have to.  They also ask new agents for
200 people they know.  That is a fact-and it makes sense.

Heres the thing.  I dont plan on using one exclusive method to market my business.  The marketplace requires too many different methods to rely on one.  That is critical.  In addition, I just cant fathom tricking someone into joining me in business.  How could you ever trust me?  The Financial Services Industry relies completely on trust.  Though WFG uses a
system, Ill use what works for me, and use conventional methods as well.  Any recruit that joins me is welcome to use
what works for them-thats what makes us all successful.  Good luck In your job search.

Mike

Almost took the "bait"

AUTHOR: Chris Burt - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 13, 2011

I received a call yesterday from a person who called himself
"Bao"from Aegon in brea calif who said he saw my resume and that I
would make a great fit in the company.

He would not tell me much about the company but decided to schedule for an
interview for today (4-12-11) at 1:pm. I thought great, a possible job close to
home.

After the call I felt there was something wrong, didn't know what, just a gut
feeling.

This morning I decided to do a little research on this company and bingo! I
found this report.

Thank you very much for posting the original post

Thanx You!

I just want to thank you for reporting this. Today, in the afternoon, I got a call from Steven M. Supposedly from Aegon. It was exactly how the phone conversation went. I was about to go to the interview that's on Dec. 17th, 2010. I was so sucked into it. Until I have started to look for Aegon's address in Brea, CA, and this Website pop up when I was looking for the address. I looked on indeed.com and all of the other job websites. There were no positions in Brea, CA from the Aegon Company except for Los Angeles.

The really funny thing was I had went to The World Financial Group "Interview" that is in:

501 North Brookhurst Street
Anaheim, CA 92801-5226
(714) 422-8828

It was at least 2 -3 hours of presentation. I was like, why can't you tell me sooner then to waste my time. I was so pissed. I knew then it was a gimmick. Then they asked me if I wanted to work with them. Both Aegon and World
Financial Group got my information or resume from CareerBuilder.com.

Again, thank you so much for reporting this!!!!!!!
