I am the boyfriend that Karen of San Diego was speaking about in an earlier post. My story is a long one so instead of writing it out, here is the text to a letter I sent to the CEO of Worldcom:

Dear Mr. Ebbers:
I am writing you regarding the contract I signed with your company, and reasons why I believe my contract has been breached by Worldcom Wireless. I have contacted customer service on numerous occasions about this and have received absolutely no help with getting this situation resolved. In order to catch you up to speed I have to give you some background.

Back in August, I signed a contract with your company through a Worldcom Wireless sales rep that stopped by my office. Once my phone was finally activated after waiting a week, I received service for about 3 weeks. After this, my service was turned off. I called customer service and discovered that my sales rep didn't completely fill out my contract. She left out the date, and the serial number to the phone was not legible.

Customer service tried to fix the problem by taking my SIM card number and assured me my phone would be activated shortly there after. About 2 weeks later, I still didn't have any service and I received numerous bills stating $0.00 due. I called back many times to customer service and after holding for an average of 45 minutes, I spoke with a supervisor who assured me again that I would have service shortly.

Weeks went by and I still received numerous bills in the mail and still didn't have service. Some of the bills had a different account number and all the bills had the wrong plan. I then called a 3rd time and was assured, once again, that I would receive service shortly. My phone still does not work and I have received many bills with 3 different account numbers.

This has gone far enough. I fear that if I call back to customer service to try a 4th time to get this resolved, I will receive another bill in the mail with a 4th account number. This is unacceptable. I have lost faith in Worldcom Wireless and I feel that they have breached my contract on more than one occasion. It has been 6 months since I started and I only received service for 2 weeks.

I called, once again, to customer service and the rep told me that I had to pay for a new S.I.M. card in order to get my phone to work. He also informed me that Worldcom would not reimburse me if I did purchase one. This is not right. I have never encountered such poor customer service. I talked to a supervisor in customer service and she told me that the early termination fee can't be waived.

I know this is not true so I got your name and address to give Worldcom Wireless one more chance to get this nightmare resolved. I hope, for the sake of customer service, you will get me out of this contract. I refuse to pay anything because I have not received any service. I do not want to take legal action for something that can easily be fixed, but if pressed, I will.

I will give you 10 working days on receipt of this letter to get this matter resolved. I am including all of the bills I received along with a copy of my contract for you to review. Once you have made a decision I would appreciate a letter stating so. I hope you can put an end to this. Thank you for any help you can provide.

This is just the beginning of my nightmare with Worldcom. Much more has happened since.
