This company is one of the worst companies that I have ever delt with. Reading the complaints that have been filed already I relate to all of them. This company is taking people to the cleaners. I am a college grad and a business major and I have been working for some of the best companies that are out there. I know how a good business is run and I know when to identify a corrupt business. This is my story, I started my plan in July of 2001 and my plan was 39.99 a month with free long distance and free roaming charges. I had 200 minutes on peak and 500 off peak. Me being new to the cell phone era, found it very exciting to be able to call someone any time. I also know that I dont talk on the phone for any extended period of time. The first clue that this company was shady was when I call on my first bill and they tried to charge me an activation fee when the women at the cell phone place charged me that day that I got it. So I called and waited on hold for over 30 min to tell them this and they kindly took it of my bill. This was the first months bill. I was not charged for going over my minutes. The second month my bill started to grow to a greater sum. I paid no attention to this because I figured I might have gone over a little bit. But then I started to get bills that were growing in the hundres, and this became very fishy to me so I went over my bill and they started charging before my max minutes were reached. So I called waiting over 30min again to tell them this and they put me on hold and they would come back with an amount that they would kindly take off. This was troubling to me, not that the money was coming of, but the fact that they are probably doing this to every customer was really disturbing. So another month went by, I received my bill again being an excess of $100 and yet again calling. I talked to a customer service person and they said that there system was having trouble and that it was not giving correct statements. So another red light went on in my head and wondered how many people they were doing this to. So he said that they would recalculate my bill and someone would call me with a new total, another month went on and a received no phone call at anytime. At this point I did not pay because he said not to and my bill was even a larger sum and at this point my bill looked more complicated than an elements table for chemistry. At this point I was fed up with calling and fed up with the company. So a called to cancel my service with Worldcom and they said they would have to charge me my early termination fee. So I heard from a friend that if you say that you are moving to a place that they cannot provide service to they are breaking the contract. I in turn called and said that I was moving to Burma, Mandalay in asia and they said that they would try to take the charges off for me and it never happened, so I tried to play there game, but it did not work. I am know left with a balance of 270.76 that I dont even want to pay. But the kicker is that I called them numerious times to get the $200 dollars removed and they said the could not but the funny thing is that they have on my bill $250 disconnect fee and so I called them on that and they said there policy changed about two months back and a supervisor, (I actually talked to one) said that they would take that off. So I called back agian to make sure that that was taken off and they said no, I talked to a different lady than before and so she had to verify my contract, and she looked up while I was on hold and she came back to tell me that is was not there. And I asked her what it said and she said that it was the computer, so I kept aksing her what it said and she finally said that it read DOCUMENT NOT FOUND!! So I say this, how can I be held accountable for a contract that is not even there. I have spent many hours on the phone with this company to find many different answers for so many people who really dont know. I say this people get so busy with there lives and dont pay attention to bills that they pay them in fear that they will be sent to the collection agency,a dn it will look bad on the credit report. I to fear this and I dont want this to go on my credit report for some company that is ripping me off. This is robbery it is just as bad as me going into a bank and holding people up!!! I am mad and I need help, I need to direct this anger and anguish toward something that will be good for the people. Thank you for reading this and I hope that we can put a class action law suit against this company.
