I was looking to buy my son a Prius. Found one on EBAY that looked like it could be fixed up. Was listing as "running". According the photos supplied, damage didn't seem that bad.  So I called the number listed. I was pressured into leaving a deposit. I told the guy on the phone, I would do this through EBAY. "Don't do that" He said,"You will just acrue more fees. Send over a deposit through PAYPAL, because I have several people looking at this car right now". I figured, if there was a problem, my credit card company and/or PAYPAL would sort this out. So I send a deposit of $1000.00  Worst mistake I could make.  When I saw the car, it was nothing like described. The hood, fenders, core support, radiator & condensor had been "banged out" to make the car seem like the car's damage was minor on the pictures.  Upon closer inspection, I realized the car was in a major accident! Whole front end crushed against he engine, intake manifold broken into pieces (I actually stuck my hand inside the hole on the intake manifold), the radiator fans were removed to hide the damage, oil pan completely crushed in (looks like it jumped a curb before hitting a telephone pole as I found pieces of wood inside the engine compartment).

I had made the deposit on Friday. The following Monday (happened to be a holiday), I got  a call that the balance was due by wire-transfer! I told the lady on the phone I counted 5 working days on Thurday! "5 days means 5 days, not 5 working days!"  Now, I know something is fishy. So I start to reseach the company(s).  Man, did I stick my foot into it! Of course, I can expect to kiss my deposit good bye, but no way am I going to take this sitting down.

Looks like these guys have been scamming people for years! Someone from the Attorney's General's Office & DMV needs to put a stop to these guys! As for myself, I'm going to dedicate all my spare time shout to everyone who to stay clear of these crimminals!

I just found out they have already relisted the same car back on EBAY for more money!  Go figure!

FOUND SMOKING GUN!

After researching some more information on the internet, some people suggested that I run the VIN# on the internet. Sure enough the vehicle popped up on the VININSPECT.COM website. I had to buy a report for $8.99, but that's peanuts compared to the headache & monies I've already lost. I recommend this vehicle inspection report to anyone before buying a car, even a salvage vehicle.  They had pictures before Worldwide Auto got their hands on it. Those pictures show the extent of the accident.

According to the report the car was sold to Worldwide on Jan 6, 2014.  The body was banged out & ready for sale by Jan 17, 2014 (when I saw the vehicle on EBAY).

Shamefully enough, the vehicle is back on EBAY #201024367370 for about $500 more than the original price!

After researching Worldwide Auto Inc., wreckedcarsforsale, Auto Export of LA, I now I'm not the only person these people have duped. They have been running their scam for years & are obviously masters at it. This is where they are a danger to the general public & should be run out of business & jailed!

Of course, I wasn't so lucky to have avoided this scam. I'm here to warn as many people as I can.

So why are you questioning me? Are you employeed by Worldwide?

Surprised?

"   Upon closer inspection, I realized the car was in a major accident! "

You went to a dealer that specifically deals in wrecked cars.    How can this be a surprise to you?   Putting a deposit on a car, sight unseen, with a dealer who advertises that they sell wrecked cars is probably not the smartest trick in the book.
