I ordered custom made wine labels for mini wine bottles which I was giving as favors for my upcoming wedding. I worked with a lady named Georgia Gaydos who was very nice and helpful during the whole process. She emailed me a proof and I approved it.

In the begining of the process I was given a price quote, and told that if we wanted a picture of us on the label it would cost extra. I let Georgia know that we only wanted the monogram and that was fine. As I said I approved the label, however when it came time to pay, I was told that because we got a monogram it was going to cost extra. This was never discussed, however I thought Georgia was very nice, and agreed to the increase in the original quote.

I got my labels the other day, and they looked nothing like what I had approved. First, the colors were much more faded, the monogram was blurred and faded. But the worst part about my labels was that they put their tag line right on the font of it! It looked so cheap and tacky, not at all something that I would be proud to give my guests.

I emailed her about these issues the day I received them, they were closed for the holiday and reopend on Monday July 12. I was out of town Monday, doing more wedding stuff and returned today. I received an email from Georgia saying that she had redone the labels and that I would have to ship these back (at my expense) and she would ship the new ones.

At this point I wanted a refund and told her that I understood she would need to keep the $15 processing fee. She responded by saying I would only get half of my money back and I would have to pay to ship these back. I never asked her to run a new set for me. I did not want a new set because obviosly I didnt get what I ordered the first time, I don't have time to take that chance again. My wedding is August 7.

There is nothing on their website as to a refund policy, or nothing on the website about the tagline being there, not is there anything about the extra charge for a monogram. DO NOT order labels from this company, the quality of the work is poor and obviously they charge whatever they feel like, as there are not kind of pricing guidelines on the website. Planning an out of state wedding is stressful enough without having to worry about this. I think I am entitled to a full refund as this was not my error, and I do not have the time for another error to be made on their part.

Please do not order from this poor company, there are much better ones out there!!

refund still not received

AUTHOR: Melissa - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 30, 2004

I would just like to note, that the partial refund that was promised by Georgia withing 2 to 3 weeks of receiving the labels still has not been received one month later. She sent an email stating that the labels were received in her office on July 31, today is August 30, and I still have yet to receive anything. I have also sent 2 emails to her regarding this issue and have gotten nothing back.

#3 REBUTTAL Owner of company

From the Operational and Policy side of our company

AUTHOR: Peter - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 14, 2004

To all that may read this issue. I am co-owner of Wrappers4U. I have been in buniess myself for well over 15+ years in both retail and the corporate world. I have been in management for well over 10 years of that time. When we decided to launch this company we were looking for a way to help people and business customers with creating a unique and different way to celebrate or advertise their business. So we launched Wrappers4U.

In regards to Ms. Felger of Frederick, Maryland's complaint. We have learned to take an opportunity to turn this into wine from sour grapes. We thank her for posting her issue to this website. Why, because of her concerns and issues we have since created policies and procedures which we had not needed in practice and have now posted them on our website along with tabs that address the very policies that we did not have until now: Refund and Return Policy, FAQ, and testimonials of satified customers. We will continue to add to this as we gain new suggestions.

I am very sorry that our transaction with Ms. Felger was a sour one. I can only imagine with her special occasion quickly approaching that she is under a great deal of pressure. We, as a company are not looking to make a quick buck but we wanted to help. If we as a company was merely looking to make a quick buck we would have ignored her concerns and we would not have addressed them on corrected them as quickly as we did. We offered to ship them to her free of charge and she would have had them by today. Problem solved. We are a small company and we are looking to help people create that special moment.

Our wish is that the people reading this realize that many hours and emails went back and forth between ourselves and Ms. Felger with her approval of the final design. It takes time to create the label and to process her order which with all of the rework was something which we could have charged for. But we did not.

Although, I do have an issue with her complaint. She is complaining about our not having a return or refund policy on our website. Personally, if I am in process of placing an order and the policy was not clearly written somewhere I would bring the subject up before continuing with a business transaction. Ms. Felger had many opportunities to ask about a refund or return policy and she did not. One should NEVER assume that all companies have a policy of that sort in this type of business.

As Ms. Felger had advised in her complaint, there are many other wrapper companies and I encourage you to go to their websites and see just how many actually post a refund or return policy on the personalized items. We did it is amazing relatively few do offer such policies. I do want to acknowledge that a few do but not the majority.

Ms. Felger was upset regarding our tagline on the product and has contacted us with comments regarding Ms. Gaydos' statement on this rebuttal that the tagline was not really "accidentally" placed on her label. Well, I feel I must address this as I am certain it is a concern. The reason that Ms. Felger was told that it was an accident that the "tagline" appeared on her label was because we had accidentally left it off her final sample for approval (and since it was not on the final approved sample - it should not have been on the final product) and as such we were going to bite the bullet and remove it from the final product - unfortunately this was not done. Standard procedures happened in this case where they should not have. For that again we apologize.

If anyone has any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to comment on your questions. Please feel free to [Place your comments below and be sure to include your FULL contact information so Rip-off Report can contact you.]

#2 Consumer Comment

Owners statements untrue...

AUTHOR: Melissa - (U.S.A.)

Georgia was correct...I only saw the labels online...however the label that I saw is not the label that I approved. It had nothing to do with the colors on my computer...she even admitted that the coloring was incorrect. As far as the extra charge for the monogram..I only found out about that when I was ready to pay for the labels.

She quoted me one price, and then said that she "forgot" to mention the additional charge. For me to send the labels back would require me to pay the shipping..which I shouldnt have to do. I just ordered new labels from a company called [DELETED]....they are WONDERFUL!!! Better quality, and not to mention much less expensive than the ripoff of these labels. If this company wants to advertise something that you pay for they should offer some sort of a discount.

Our response.

AUTHOR: Georgia - (U.S.A.)

This customer only ever saw a proof online. She manages the satuaration level on her screen. I can not reproduce every color that a computer screen can produce. The colors were off slighty and as on all of our orders we add our tag line in very small type on the bottom of the label or wrapper. This ensures that our product is not copied or stolen as well as ensures that we keep our advertising cost down.

However, we immediately addressed her concerns when we returned to the office. We attempted to reach her but were unable to. We re-ran the order and offered to ship her the completed order of course at no charge to her.

Her email to me on July 9th was that if her two concerns were addressed that the colors be more vivid and the tag line removed that she would be "more than happy to recommend me". I am sorry but never did she state that the labels were of poor quality.

As for her claiming that I was demanding the labels returned - she forgets that in the email date July 9th she stated that she was mailing them back to me. This was not a requirement for us to her to fix the error.

Regarding her Monogram -
I have documentation that this customer agreed to the additional cost of the monogram - before she paid the initial setup fee - the additional cost was .05 per label and this fee was paid weeks after work had started this was prior to final payment although she implies otherwise.

If our label was so terrible - why would she document that she is having someone take our design and print them for her. Esentially, this customer changed her mind and wanted something for nothing. She has stolen our design and that is the sad part.

We offered to re-run her order or provide a partial refund. This is not normal in a personalized item environment. Most companies offer replacement not refunds if the error is on their part. This was done.

We will send her the replacements since we are in the business to follow through on our commitments. However, in this case it should not be Buyers beware it should be sellers beware.

There are no pricing guidelines on our website as this is a specialty product. And since there is no refund policy listed and it was never asked by the customer if there is one than she should NOT have assumed that there was one.
