topseos.com claim to be an authority company to rate SEO companies.  The funny thing is that there is no certification by the search engines.

So if you are a certified SEO, approved to operate, sell, repair, administer, or educate about a product, like optimization for search engines, wouldnt the certification have to be authorized by the products manufacturer, or in this case, the search engines? So far, the search engines do not even recognize certification as being valid, let alone authorized.

In addition, to be "authorized" by topseos, you have to pay them $1000 for every month for each service that you offer.  For example, if you offer SEO, PPC, email marketing, link building (which is also SEO) then you need to pay them $4,000/month. Right now they have 19 categories (some overlapping as you can see with the SEO) and of course this is a great way for them to make money at the expense of the client...

How can this be? 

First, why should you pay a monthly fee for this?  The research is done once.  This is a way for them to get extra money every month for nothing. You also have to commit to 6 months.  So now when I stop paying the monthly to them, now all of a sudden you are not certified anymore....How can this be when they did all the research already...

On top of this they list SEO companies that participates in spam SEO and they are listed there.  I thought that their so called strict policies made it so that those that partake in spam seo would not be listed. Otherwise whats the whole point of this certification...

No, this thing is a total joke...It's just plain greed for money.  Don't waste your money on this when you can get Google certified (Adwords) for a few hundred dollars from the source itself and its only a one time fee of a few hundred dollars.  I encourage all SEO or online marketing provider to not take part of this and inform others of this ripp off and scam...
