when my car brokedown in New Jersey I contacted wynn's extended care. They told me everything was covered. the repair shop contacted them, sent in their bill. This all happened 9/17/06. It is now 11/20/06 and I still don't have my car. the total cost of repair is $1450, wynns paid $917...I rented a car for 1 week, wynns reimbursed me $30....my car is a 1999 mercury sable.....i am still making payments, i had to buy and insure a $200 car so I could get to work....I don't have the rest of the money to get my car back....it is in NJ and I live in NY. Wynns told me that the parts were covered (I blew a head gasket) what they didn't tell me was that they have their own price for the repairs and only pay that much. I am a single mother who works hard for my money. I have been without my car for 2 months....had to walk to the train station in the very early morning to get to work. i don't know what else to do....i still have another 18 months left on my car loan

this is my first time on rip off report,i am currently doing research on a used car i'm going to possibly purchase from a car dealership , i was informed by the finance manager at the dealership that the price quote he gave me of 1699.00 for 3 years, was from wynns , and that wynn;s is the only aftermarket company they use that will sell me an after market extended service contract. i have never bought 1 in the past.i have read thru a good number of the complaint and rebuttals regarding wynn's ...and am grateful to all who posted their comments on problems and solutions and experiences helping me to decide the cost effectiveness , and possible  pitfalls of purchasing their contract .i appreciate everyones comments on this site.they are very valuable to those looking to make an informed decision and feel terrible for everyone who has had bad experiences , as i have in other areas in the past because i know how frustrating they are but glad you shared them  here for everyone to learn from.

Wynns Contracts

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 23, 2007

I have worked for Wynn's for years and I have personaly seen MANY claims paid. The main thing is YOU MUST READ YOUR CONTRACTS BEFORE SIGNING!
This is not a cell phone, this is a legal binding contract and Wynns will work 100% off that contract.

1) Any Wynn's employee in customer service will NEVER tell a customer that something is covered and with a head gasket blowing it requires lots of diag and claim process to get the anwser "ITS COVERED".
Wynn's gives that shop an authorization amount based on the damages shown to the inspector. If you shop does not show all damages everything will not be paid for simple as that. If there are more damages then you MUST have you shop show those to an inspector.

2) Rental is very clear on that contract as well...."for every 8 hours of covered labor hours will get you one day of rental up to $30.00 a day" thats exactly what I told customers day in and day out. it is on your contract under "our obligations".

Keep in mind I do not work for the company anymore but for the most part their customers are well taken care of unless there is something your shop is trying to screw you on, extent of damages were not verifyed, or you have reached an exclusion on the contract.

as far as this claim goes it is cut dry unless I can get a contract number and I will call myself if you like and make sure everything is going to the contract.

Warrantech is better (DDG)

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 29, 2006

I am sorry for the experience most people have with the Wynn's warranties. After financing over 500 cac deals as the finance manager i used only four through wynn's. Complaints from our service dept and customers started within 30 days. I reserached and then switched to Dealer Development Group Services (DDG) they cover what they say, pay the full amount to service immediately over the phone and our customers and service are very happy.

You need to speak with the dealership owner and unfortunately beg for mercy. You need to call CAC and file an official complaint with a supervisor. Keep paying that loan! it will get you into a better loan term next time around! better vehicle too! I know its hard, all dealer partners with cac should switch to DDG (warrantech) immediately. Purchasing an extended warranty is not required for approval, ever. But, it makes alot of sense as cac vehicles are the higher mileage ones usually. I wish you the best.

Steve (EX finance manager who will NEVER work for another car dealership EVER)
