My son Michael is from Jeffersonville, Indiana and wanted nothing more than to attend Wyotech in Blairsville, PA. He was accepted and started attending in April of 2008. He had housing at Indy Park, which is provided by Wyotech for the students. In May of 2008 I get a phone call at home telling me that my son Michael had been suspended from school for six months, and had until the end of the weekend to vacate the Indy Park student housing complex. Michael was suspended from school for using his debit / credit card to open another students door per his roomate's requst by way of telephone. Seems the room mate had went home for the weekend and he wanted to make sure that his stuff was ok, because of recent complaints of breakin's at Indy Park. Michael being foolish did as he was asked to do. Needless to say his room mates stuff was gone.. Who ever broke in took everything of value.

Here is the kicker..Michael was suspended from school for breaking and entering because he used the card to open the door let me remind you per his room mate's request. I would like to know if this is an acceptable practice because in my book it's not. No charges were ever filed against my son for the so called breaking and entering claim made by Wyotech school personel, or for any of the thefts. Michael can go back in October of 2008 but has to provide his own housing, he can not stay at any of Wyotech's student housing facilities. I think this is crazy because he is paying so much to attend this school, and now I feel like Wyotech is too eager to suspend students. I will be contacting the PA attorney general....

#1 UPDATE Employee

Here's what happened that day . . .

AUTHOR: Mike - (U.S.A.)

WyoTech housing at Indy Park is comprised of four single occupancy-bedroom apartments.

One of the occupants slipped the lock of his roommate's bedroom and then went into the apartment living room area to watch TV without closing or re-locking the door.

Two other occupants of the facility walked into the apartment, past the student watching TV, and into the open bedroom where they removed a TV, computer, and other items of value.

They carried the goods back through the living room area out of the apartment. The parents and owner of the stolen items were quite upset.

The father said he did not - and would not - ask anyone to go into the room using a credit card.

But the student who opened the door with a credit card told us when we were suspending him that the victim (student) called him and said check my room and make sure there is no paraphernalia in there because my father is coming up.

Two students were suspended for six months for theft, and one student was suspended for aiding and abetting.

More than 94% of the students that have had their education interrupted for one reason or the other, return to finish their program of study.

If the students mentioned in the above incident choose to apply for readmission, they will be put back into their program of study where they left off -- and not charged any additional tuition.

Although the school will help them secure housing in the area, they will not be allowed back into Indy Park.

Bet they already have your tuition money, right?

AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)

Let me guess....

They already have all the tuition and housing fees right? Good luck getting any $$$ back from them. They do this with the knowledge that 90% of students will never return, knowing the fraud that the 'education' really is.

Tell your son to go to the local JC, pay less and get a better education.
