x-surf bans users when they use the [abuse report] for the purpose intended Internet

http://x-surf.net is an autosurf site that is a "hit exchange" - of which there are many on the Internet. The site serves up web sites in a rotation for a user to view, and gives the user credits for displaying his / her web site to other members.

The concept is not new, but each of these "autosurf" sites have one thing in common - a way to report to the Webmaster, a site being displayed that is offensive, or in some way impedes the smooth rotation of all the sites being displayed.

When I used X-Surf, I found several of these sites that sometimes stopped the rotation, and used the [Abuse Report] tab to report the URL (copied from the browser's URL window) to the Webmaster.

After surfing the site all day Jan 11, 2007, I found several sites that stopped the rotation (and one even crashed my browser when I tried to exit the site), I reported it as is normal procedure. In my surf rotation, I had accumulated about 20,000 (or so) credits towards displaying my site to other users.

Today, I found I could not log back on, and received the following e-mail from X-Surf:

You were warned not to use the abuse reports for spamming.

I use the abuse reports to report sites that stop the surf rotation. I copy the URLs right from the URL window of my browser when the surf rotation stops. How the hell is that "spamming". Who am I spamming? I take the trouble to report crap sites, and I get banned.... ain't this some s**t?

If you did a bit of surfing on your own site, you would see that the surf rotation crashes every 15 minutes, and it's always the same sites.

I also sent this message via the CONTACT page on the web site.

Obviously, this person does not know how to run an autosurf site, and (somehow) confuses VALID ABUSE REPORTS from loyal surfers with "SPAMMING". I don't know how this idiot equates the two, since the ONLY persom who can see the abuse reports is HIM, and by definition, "spoamming" is sending unsolicited e-mails to thousands of people.... and it never occurred to this ahole WHY I would be "spamming" HIM witht the URLs for web sites that are displayed ON HIS SURF ROTATION, and URLs for sites I do not PERSONALLY OWN, and have nothing to do with.

I suggest that everyone STAY AWAY from http://x-surf.net The Webmaster does a lousy job of culling troublesome sites from the surf rotation, and if you send the URL for a site that stops your browser in its tracks, you are likely to get accused of "spamming", have your account terminated, and all the credits and time you spend surfing with X-surf go for naught.
