I bought a 17" X2gen monitor from MacMall on 2/24/06, naturally being pleasantly attracted by X2gen's $99 rebate offer. I mailed the rebate form to the Wood Dale address on or about 3/1/06. After about 14 weeks, I called them, and was told "The Rebate Dept. isn't accepting calls. Send us an eMail." I did just that, and got a prompt eMail (un-signed) reply asking me to re-submit a copy of the form. I eMailed a copy that same day (6/5/06).

They have never replied. I've sent them at least 3 more eMails, and have even tried to enlist help from MacMall, to no avail. They'll go down on my book as "Just Plain Crooks" unless I get some satisfaction from them ASAP!!

AT LAST----MAYBE!!

AUTHOR: Childs - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 22, 2006

I actually received my $99.00 rebate check from X2gen/CWS yesterday, almost 25 WEEKS, and many eMails to X2gen, MacMall and Rebate Systems, Inc., deposited it today, and will consider the matter closed, unless the check bounces.

However, I will NEVER again give X2gen another penny of my business, and will warn my MAC User Group and my other friends what difficulties they may expect if they are tempted by rebate offers from these people.

I heartily agree with others who beleive retailers should guarantee their suppliers rebates, of even better, offering "instant rebates" and dealing with the suppliers themselves,

Many thanks to ripoffreport, com for their GREAT website!!

X2gen Wood Dale IL andrebatesystems.com--Just as I expected!!!

AUTHOR: Childs - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 09, 2006

After I eMailed rebatesystems.com, requesting a date that my APPROVED rebate check would be mailed, I got the info that my rebate request was rejected because a STAMPED SELF-ADDRESSED ENVELOPE was not found! There was NOTHING in the rebate request form which stated this requirement. These folks just seem to be making up their own rules as they go along. What they haven't counted on, though, is my own dogged persistence!!

After i eMailed X2gen, telling them that I had filed a complaint with ripoffreport.com, they replied that they had turned their rebate program over to rebatesystems, com. I eMailed that company, and they replied "Congratulations! You are approved. Rebate checks are cut once a month. Your check will be sent shortly. Thanks for your patience. Record updated."

I'll remain skeptical, though.. until the rebate check is received, deposited, and cleared! I'll update again as things progress(?).
