I'm 80 years old. I gave Xlibris my life savings to publish two of  my books.  They ruined the manuscript so I had to do all the editing then they lost my manuscripts and said I didn't ssend them.  when they finally published the books they used the uncorrected galleys instead of the ones I corrected.  Thebooks are unsalable.

I told them to unpublish the books (cancel my contract since I'm having them published by amazon).  they send me a lot of emaild blaming me for the mess they made of my books, but they didn't do what I asked them to do. so far they have refused. what canI do?  does anyone know how?

The Xlibris Scam

AUTHOR: Sebbie - ()

Wow I raed people complaining about them hacking before and wondered if that person was delusional, but maybe not. They possibly got paticualrly worried about you because of your age and the huge amount of money they stole from you. Yes it's illegal most of what they do is illegal but no one seems to care. They stole $4000 from my elderly 73 year old father and would not give it back,. They didn't do anything for his book he asked in the correct time frame for his money back and to cancel. Of course they canceled the book and did no work on it but they never gave him his money back just tried to tell him that they sent a check and because he's elderly he must have lost it . A LIE!

Anyway what I'm trying to tell you is there is no use talking to Xilbris as they will never be honest but you can send a copyright takedown notice about the Xilbris book to Amazon to get the Xilbris version taken off the Amazon website as Xlibris legally don't have the right to it your book because they broke the terms of your contract.

You will have no luck from Xlibris as they are a scam compnay and lie about everything. But since they are in breech of contract with you you own your rights no matter how much they tell you that you don't. YOu can send legal copyright take down notices to Amazon regarding the Xibiris versions.

Since I own all my publication rights, I only asked Xlibris to un-publish my two books...that is cancel the contract.  I did not ask for a refund...I only wanted them to give me my books back.  They refused

I sent an email telling them ablout Ripoff....I got a lot of nasty emails and phone calls, but they still refused my request.

Amazon is going to re-publish my books and do it correctly. They tell me that Xlibris has no right to refuse my request. Several people said I should go public and let the media know what they are doing.

All I asked for after seven months of hell trying towork wih them, is Unpublish my books so I can move on.

I paid with a credit card and the transaction was all done on line and via the telephone.

Also, they hacked my computer and removed all infor about Xlibris, but I had the emails saved to another computer and another location.  Isn't that illegal for them to do that?

Please, someone tell me what to do next. I'm 84 years old
