xvision dataman iphone app by Johnny Ixe wants money for each new ios revision Internet

I purchased this App from iTunes for both the iPhone and iPad since they sold seperately!  Not a cheap app.  The app stopped working correctly and I got in touch with customer support who said that I needed to purchase a new version because the ios7 needed the new one and it was not a free upgrade!  Normally on iTunes when one purchases a product they get free upgrades.  So I refuse to spend this much money again, two times for iphone and opad, only to find out later that I have to pay again when it breaks!

I would be very careful about purchasing anything from iTunes apps under the name "Johnny Ixe".  They have several apps and I suspect they make a lot of money doing this instead of creating a good customer base.
