My elderly parents were contacted by phone by "Clinton Moore"; he stated he was with Wells Fargo Claims Department in New York, and told them they had been selected (eligibility based on Medicare or being a Walmart customer) - to win $259,000 ($232,500 after they took out taxes) from Golden Harvest Sweepstakes associated with Publishers Clearing House. He managed to get the name of their bank and the amount of money in their checking and savings accounts before they got suspicious. He told them there was a small fee to get their sweepstakes; all they had to do was to get a "green card" at Walmart or CVS and put $450 on the card, and then he could deposit the money in their account. He said they had to do it today, because people were coming to their house today with balloons and a big check. He told them if they weren't comfortable with publicity, they would not bring TV cameras, but that they had to keep this very quiet until the deposit was made to their account.

Luckily, my mother called me for help - very distraught.  I called the number Mr. Clinton Moore left as a call-back, (607-241-8253) and after several rings an answering machine picked up with a generic message saying no answerers were available to take the call and to leave a message...no way was I going to leave a message; this made the situation even more suspicious. I did a reverse lookup on the number and the owner's name is "YMAX Oration Landline". I googled YMAX Oration, and the top hit was this Ripoff Scam website. There were two other recent reports with similar circumstances.

We have notified the bank and the local police. These filthy predators must be stopped!!!
