"CONSUMER PROMOTION DRAWING" BEWARE: My parents received a letter from a company named Yorkshire Financial Services UK stating they had won a COnsumer Promotion Drawing. The check issued was for $3,900.00 (to cover the taxes), and the letter asks that they Money Gram or Western Union the amount to a "William Russell, Tax Agent" out of London, UK.
I have reported this to the Attorney General's Office as they did not have a report as of yet. This is a scam towards senior citizens. DO NOT CALL THE PHONE NUMBER NOR ANSWER YOUR PHONE IF THEY CALL YOU! This was advice given to my parents from the AG's office.
If you receive a call or letter report it ASAP! These individuals are preying on seniors and could wipe them out! My parents did the right thing by bringing the letter and check to me so it could be reported.
Be on the look out for anyone with the names: Lisa Edwards, Daniel Clark, & William Russell. I did Google the phone number and the company name and there is some information floating around on the net.
