YouCaring.com is a donation site but does not process the donations in the way they claim (sending it to a Paypal account, which you might have set up years ago).  Turns out YouCaring is closely linked to a credit card/payment processor called WePay.com. YouCaring claimed, contrary to their website, to not be able to process Paypal accounts.  Went on to explain that the only way for us to get access hundreds of donations was to open a WePay account, which is closely linked in some way to Youcaring.

Proud moment for them--tricking people so they skim fees off donations.  It took 4 weeks of cryptic emails from YouCaring, including the CEO, to get this resolved and have yet to get a straight answer to some very basic questions.  Avoid them, there are better options.

of persistent problems with youcaring, you really ought to look a bit deeper.  Youcaring were forcing users into using Wepay and skimming fees.  Is that fixed now in 2015?  Perhaps, but let the buyer beware.  Better options exist than dealing with a credit card processor masquerading as a crowdfunding site.

That's Odd...

AUTHOR: Jane - (USA)

...that's VERY odd, because, as a regular user of YouCaring and a regular assistant to others using YouCaring, I've never heard of this. My research has not led me to any other complaints like this, either. There is always the option of using either PayPal or WePay. We ony have experience with PayPal; none has chosen WePay, since there is no significant difference between the two in the fee, and the PayPal name is known, and often previously used by us.

This report does not change the bottom line for us; we find no other crowdfunding site better than or equal to YouCaring.com.
