We purchased 2 puppies from Young on 9/30/2017.  We thought we were buying full-bred 8-week-old Shih Tzu's and was excited to get them home and start to care for them.  Before arriving, I had asked Young if the parents of the puppies stayed with her and she said yes, so I was expecting to see both parents, but saw neither.  We were so excited over the adorable puppies (which she capitalized on) that I did not push the issue.  We drove 1-1/2 hours one way and were eager to get on the road with our new babies.  

We have owned 3 Shih Tzu's in the past but it has been 8 years since our last one so we just remember they were little loving furbabies.  After getting them home and comparing them to pictures of our past Shih Tzu's, it was obvious that they were not full-bred.  I wouldn't doubt if the 2 we have are from 2 totally different litters, to be honest.  

I sent Young a text asking if we could return the puppies for a refund but of course she said she doesn't do that (I thought every good breeder stands by there puppies).  I asked her to be honest about the breed - the only Shih Tzu listed on her current website (apparently, she has alias websites) is a female.  I did not see any male Shih Tzu's and I asked her about that, which she ignored the question (I wouldn't doubt if she has added one by now).

I just don't understand why she had to lie about the breed, other than thinking this would justify charging more.  I have gone through different stages; angry at myself for not checking her out better, frustrated at the greed of some people in this world today and sad that there seems to be no integrity left in people.  I am a woman of Faith that TRIES to mimic Jesus's life so I am called to pray for Young and ask God to awaken her soul and draw her to Him.  

I have no one to blame but myself for this situation because I let my emotions get the best of me and was careless in my judgment.  This was a very expensive and tough lesson to learn but God will use it for His good - this I know!  He is control!

When you came to my home I gave you as much time as you wanted to play with the puppies and make a decision.  You liked the puppies and you bought them.  I didn't push them on you, I let you make the decision yourself.  The puppies were not more expensive because they're pure bred and two puppies for $1,450 is a very reasonable price.  My mixed breed puppies the size of those puppies cost $950 each.  I thought I gave you a good deal and I thought you were happy with my puppies.  But you keep complaining so I guess you are not happy with them.  If you are not happy you can return the puppies and I will give you a full refund.  Also, I bought the father, a registered Shih Tzu, from another breeder and I bred him to my registered Shih Tzu female.

  Hello, I am very sorry that you feel this way, but when I seen this I felt compelled to respond. I recently purchased a Shih Tzu from Young. I had a Shih Tzu before and he had a lot of problems with his eyes and nostrils and allergies. When I spoke to Young looking for another Shih Tzu she understood what I was talking about and said that she had bred A litter to a Shih Tzu with a longer snout and smaller eyes to help with the issues. I don’t think she had any malicious intent and changing the appearance but instead helping with the known health issues. I am also a woman of God and I have good discernment. When I purchased my puppy from her I had mentioned my friend that had lost her malt Pooh in the hurricane because I am from Houston. I drove three hours to her to specifically purchased from her because of the way the puppies were bred. When I told her about my friend, with tears in her eyes, she told me to contact her and come pick a puppy out. She has donated three puppies to Harvey victims. Again, I’m very sorry that you feel the way you feel but I just had to let you know my experience. She was very gracious and generous. By no means am I judging your experience, I am only letting mine be known. I hope maybe this can make you feel at ease a little since other things you have read have made you so uncomfortable.
