Here is the entire story, some what detailed!

Recently I decided to take my vehicle to Younger Toyota for a regular oil change. Appointment went fine, I was able to pick my car back up shortly after I droped it off... (my best friend is my service writer) I got a great price on my Full synthetic oil I believe to be about 5 quarts. My car when I got it back, wasn't running normally, I just thought it was maybe the weather, something different... just didnt think too much of it.

About 1,323 miles later, I went around a turn to see my oil light come on and stay on. I took it immediatly to my dealership, parked it check the oil... dipstick was "crunchy" not one drop of oil anywhere on it, there was several people standing right there when I checked it one being a Master Tech, they agreed there was very little if any oil in my engine. I called my service advisor right away he told me that he would bring it in on Monday, leave the car parked where it is... he will pick me up, that he did.

Monday morning came around, called him again, they had some oil waiting on me. Brought that up.. put it in my car about 4 quarts... checked the dipstick. It now had some oil on it... very clean looking very fresh..which tells me there was absolutly none in there before hand. I then started my car there was small amount of smoke, an audible tapping noise, drove it driectly down to Toyota (about 2000 feet away from my dealership literally) They put the remaining amount of oil in there that it needed. They asked that I follow up in approx. 100-150 miles they have put some dye in my engine to see where the leak was.. (They believe that in 1000 miles that my car was able to burn straight through 5 quarts of oil {IMPOSSIBLE}) I humored them and took possesion of my vehicle again. It ran still very bogged down, audible tapping not too terrible but noticeable. I did not follow up with the dye, because I know 100% for sure that my car does not consume oil.

Now, about 3 months later, my car is running as well as you would expect after it had no oil in it for about 1000 miles. I get in it, start it drive to get some dinner... I begin to hear this horrible, sickening, very loud tapping noise. I am around cars all the time and I know my way around an engine pretty well so immeditaly my heart sank, and dollar signs began to flash in my eyes. I knew exactly what the sound is, and I know about how much a problem like that is going to cost. I needed to drive my car about 3 miles tops to get my Fiance's car. I park my poor little car and there she sat all weekend. I was able to bring back in to Toyota... They told me that it was 2 quarts low on oil... (how funny, since I just checked it about a week before this happened.. it was fine..) So now they are telling me that it burned 2 quarts in a matter of a week.

Let me clear some things up here. There was never any smoke, no drops of oil ANYWHERE-ever! I know that that is complete bull...They went ahead and charged me for 2 quarts of synthetic.. dont really know where they put it because I know that is wasnt low.

Ever since the day I got it back after they put the oil in it, every single time I would get gas, I made it a point to check my oil. Sometimes I would just check it to have piece of mind at random times! So I know for sure that it was just fine with the oil levels.

Well now that I am to this point. This is my only vehicle. I work 45 hours every single week.. to be able to pay for my PRIDE and JOY! I love my car that I just get to look at all day.

The way they are willing to "compensate" for me is an engine at their cost. They are getting back to me with price, but that is going to be nothing short of $4,000.00. FYI... I dont have that kind of money laying around. NOT good enough for me.

They have no idea what kind of heart ache, and stress this has caused me these last couple of days. I Have to play phone tag with them all day while I am to be fullfilling my duties at my job. I have to figure out ways to get home from work every night. I have to be late almost every morning becuase I cant find a ride, or the person that is to pick me up is late, or when I get to drive my Fiance's car, he has nothing to drive and must sit at the house all day (hope there's not an emergency that would require him to drive some place or meet someone.)

The worst part about it, I work at a car dealership that stands by their customers 100000%. When a mistake is made, they man up and take responsiblity for it. They dont jerk the customer around and try to blame them for their mistakes. When the problem is resolved that customer leaves with a smile on their face, and im sure they are willing to come back in here because they can trust their dealership. I just dont know how Younger Toyota can do this to me!!!!

I just want my car returned to the way it was before their careless fingers got a hold of it. I dont want to pay for something that just sits there, I cant afford that.

I will do all I can to have Oprah EXPOSE this website to all her viewers, all over the WORLD, so the PEOPLE can express their concerns with TOYOTA'S LACK of RESPONSIBILITY to all of the problems. Especially these:

'Google' this-BALTIMORE SETTLEMENT CALIFORNIA TOYOTA, and read the Lawsuit that Mr. & Mrs. Baltimore (an African American family) filed against TOYOTA CORPORATION because TOYOTA was TARGETTING African Americans & Hispanics and charging them higher interest rates due to their SKIN COLOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oprah Winfrey can certainly understand these people's PAIN, wouldn't you agree??? Barack Obama could certainly understand these people's PAIN too, correct?? And since Oprah & Barack Obama want to HELP the PEOPLE, they will obviously do something about it, right?

And since, quote: 'EXPOSURE is a corporation's WORST fear.' - Harvard Business Professor, Oprah can help to EXPOSE TOYOTA and their way of DISCRIMINATING against ALL PEOPLE of ALL RACES & religious backgrounds, correct??

WE ALL LOVE OPRAH, because OPRAH IS #1.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'Now I understand your chronic pain, Friendly Help! You suffer the pain of being illogical!'

Space filler, but dramatic.

'This is proven by YOUR brilliant 'Andromeda Post'':'

Thank you very much. Too bad it was not you.

'All your advice after the fact does not help her. What is it about the sentence above that You have been unable to comprehend yet?''

'Well gosh gee-whiz Big-A! NOTE THIS:'

Irrelevant. You sound like 'Gomer Pyle'. Remember Him? Brilliant! You're Funny!

'ALL advice given on RoR is AFTER the FACT! [Too bad Andromeda cannot think through his/her posts before hitting the 'SUBMIT'' button, isn't it?'

Do you really think anyone is ever going to believe that? But another nice try.

'Thanx for taking the time to elaborate, J G Shrugged:'

Yes, I already thanked him. You misspelled Thanks.

''And then, you refused to allow them to do the dye test because you were 100% sure that it wasn't burning oil.''

Interesting, but still Before the fact. You left off the relevant part of the post. How could you do that, or why in the world would you do that? Everybody knows why!

'I am sure that the mechanics where OP worked would have ALSO suggested these SAME diagnostics. IF OP had patronized the dealership WHERE SHE WORKED, and about whom SHE HAS/HAD A POSITIVE ATTITUDE, I am sure she would have followed this recommendation when it was made by the mechanics where OP worked and the failure would have been avoided.'

Space filler. Irrelevant. She chose the Toyota dealer.

Now JG - please be kind enough to explain S.L.O.W.L.Y to Friendly Help what 'Now' means and how it applies to this post and in general. Would you? Please?

Explain what? The part you purposely chose to leave off? He can certainly do that.

'Maybe Andromeda is Karl2? The Shadow Knows!'

Space filler and speculation.

You have got to get off the bit about her choosing the 'wrong dealer' That is your Achilles heel here. People can attack you every post here if you don't! But then you still don't know why.

Okay, here is some advice:

AUTHOR: J G Shrugged - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 19, 2008

Why didn't you check the oil for over 1k miles after the oil change when you already admitted that something wasn't right??

And then, you refused to allow them to do the dye test because you were 100% sure that it wasn't burning oil. Well, if you have to take them to court, you better be able to consider yourself to be a professional mechanic with more training and certifications than the dealer's staff, as your word about the 100% sure part is going to have to stand up against their word. And even in a 50/50 split the judge will probably side with the dealer because you can't prove it wasn't anything other than they didn't put oil in at that change.

If was burning oil and you refused their recommended investigation, you probably voided any kind of warranty right there. Plus, doesn't the manual mention checking the oil at every fillup?

Friendly advice,

'The answer to your question is soooo simple, Andromedia: OP stated that she KNEW the people at dealership where she worked & felt that those people were very competent and concientious.'

Sorry, You tried to simplify it for her, and didn't get it done. You neglected the order of things. Where was your head?

Show me where she felt those people were very competent and conscientious on Toyota. How do you know she didn't choose to take her Toyota to a Toyota dealer, like most other people do.

You don't know do you! Where was your head?

'Therefore she should have had her Toyota/Honda/Buick/Whatever serviced there.'

She was not told to get service at her dealer by YOU prior to the problem, and didn't have your advice to follow. Therefore YOUR advice was not timely and is not not relevant to her problem at this point in time! Perhaps you were thinking about another post somewhere else. Where was your head?

Your answer is also speculation, as the dealer she works for could have also damaged the car in spite of being 'competent and conscientious.' Where was your head?

'Oil changes are simple, inexpensive affairs that can be completed in any competent shop, and oil changes are also important considering the costly harm that improper engine maintanence can cause. I have done my own oil changes for over 40 years, and I have NEVER had an engine problem, even on engines I have put more than 350,000 miles on.'

Completely irrelevant hot air just to fill up space and say something. It has no place on this thread. It makes no difference to her problem now. Where was your head?

In short, none of your posts are relevant to the Authors situation now. Remember hindsight is 100%. Where was your head?

By the way you misspelled so, conscientious and maintenance.

I hope I have helped you re-think this through. I expected something far better from you. What happened? Are you Ill?

Friendly advice,

'The answer to your question is soooo simple, Andromedia: OP stated that she KNEW the people at dealership where she worked & felt that those people were very competent and concientious.'

Sorry, You tried to simplify it for her, and didn't get it done. You neglected the order of things. Where was your head?

Show me where she felt those people were very competent and conscientious on Toyota. How do you know she didn't choose to take her Toyota to a Toyota dealer, like most other people do.

You don't know do you! Where was your head?

1000 miles with no oil?

AUTHOR: Kelshir - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, August 17, 2008

I highly doubt that your car ran over 1000 miles either missing 4/5's of its oil or with no oil, your engine would have been gone LONG before then. And it is possible to burn that much oil in 1000 miles, I have had many cars burn that much or more.

What were you thinking 'Friendly Help' and 'Bigcraig?'

AUTHOR: Andromeda - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, August 09, 2008

Friendly help,

Your post is irrelevant and is of no use, it just fills up space for nothing.

Why shouldn't she take her car to a Toyota dealer. How do you know it isn't a Toyota, or did I just miss that?

You act like she was supposed to know that the Toyota dealer was going to wreck her engine before she took her car there.

Bigcraig,

Your post contains nothing useful and is partially unreadable.

Why shouldn't she take her car to a Toyota dealer. How do you know it isn't a Toyota, or did I miss that?

Karl,

Your post is not sarcastic and contains some useful information for Monica. Congratulations!

I certainly hope you two(Friendly help & Bigcraig) can do a whole lot better than this on future posts. If not, It would be much better to not say anything than to prove to everyone that you write garbage and post just to take up space.

Try very hard to be friendly to Authors and try very hard to come up with something to say that is relevant, intelligent and helpful. I know it hurts, but keep trying.

Since you work at an auto dealer why don't you go to service, mechanic not writer, and ask them if your engine will run with no oil in it for over 1000 miles, I already know the answer. HELL NO

If you work at a wonderful car dealership, WHY did you not have the oil changed there?

AUTHOR: Friendly Help - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 29, 2008

There is nothing magic about changing the oil & filter in a Toyota- or in any other car. And what ''synthetic'' oil did you get & for how much?

You can take your own synth oil, like Mobil-1 at $23 for a 5-qt jug at Wally*World. Your owner's manual will tell you exactly what weight of oil to use, i.e. 5W-30, and how much. Understanding *exactly* what your car needs & when is a lot less expensive that $4000.
