We needed a fico score to fill out an application for a domestic solar package. I went to a website PMIdentity.com and signed up to get 3 credit reports with the promise of a refund if I stopped the service within 1 week. I had to pay $10 more to get a second fico score, although the site promised 3. These charges added up to over $40, but only $19.95 was refunded.
Not only was my full amount not refunded, but somehow I ended up being a "member" of Privacy matters.com, with a separate charge, and a "member" of "YourSavingsClub".
The worst is, I am still being charged monthly by "YourSavingsClub". It is only $1.00, but I never signed up for this, and have not been successful in having these fraudulent charges removed from my checking account.
These sites are not what they promise. Stay away from them!
